Lupo Tim
Make: VW Lupo Model: Lupo E MOT: March 2017 Engine size: 999 CC Fuel type: Petrol Milage: 62,000 Reg: PE04 DHA Location: Swinton, Manchester Price: £200 (open to offers) The engine does work, but only after a jumpstart. I reckon it would need a new battery to keep her running as the battery doesn't hold any charge (I did try charging it for 2 days with no luck) Driver’s side front wheel is flat. Driver’s side door does not open from the inside There are two areas on the driver’s seat where the fabric is worn through to the foam padding beneath Passed its last MOT in March 2017 Hoping someone who loves Lupos would like to adopt her - I really want to avoid taking her to the scrap heap With some work and TLC I’m sure this will be a great little run around for someone I am the second owner - I purchased from a VW dealer in 2006 Please note that in its current condition the Lupo can not be driven off from the driveway. It is currently declared off the road so it will need to be collected by a recovery-type truck Looking forward to hearing what feedback I get, Thanks Tim Edited April 4, 2021 by Lupo Tim Checked to see if the engine would start
Skezza
Have you got the key(s)? Have you not tried to turn it over?
Lupo Tim
Hi, Yes I do have the keys. However I haven’t tried turning over the engine. I was slightly worried it may do more damage as I’ve not used it for so long - do you know if that could cause any damage at all? I know the battery will certainly be flat. The engine worked perfectly when it was last on the road. Thanks Tim

Thanks Tim Unlikely to cause any damage at all, although the petrol will be grim by this point, so some fresh in the tank and fresh oil would help stop any potential hiccups while you do it. Depends how much you want to try.
Rich
Pull the plug from the coilpack first.
mk2
I'd guess it might have stuck rings, but yeah try and start it. Excellent fun! If no compression, chuck a teaspoon of oil in each plug hole.
Lupo Tim
Just to update you all...the engine does work fine....after a jump start. I would say the Lupo would need a new battery to get her running again
