Lewism3
I've just downsized from a Golf to a Lupo but I need some roof bars to transport my mountain bike (when out of lockdown). What do people recommend?
ObjectiveAway
You can use any universal on edge roof bars, I have old mont blanc ones, the point is they are very strong, but do not try to pull them together by attaching objects with singe starp to both bars. Lewism3
That's fair enough. I would only be using them for the bike and may be a surf board. The alternative would be these suction pads I've heard about, but this means removing the bike wheel. More of a faff to be honest. Thanks for your input. Do you want to sell yours???? I don't want to sell them while I own lupo. Search for door frame roof bars, I think its more accurate therm for them. It is exactly about surf board/windsurf straping, use seperate straps and lupo roof racks will work just fine. And I like bicycle holders with front wheel removed, because they feel more stable on long drives.
weslangdon
If you ever get near Swansea, message me, as I have a spare set, you can have them, no charge
yeha
I went for a set of Thule aerobars. Cost under £100 by figuring out which parts were needed and buying them off ebay and gumtree at the right price. Then got some Thule 591 bike carriers.
