Banshee
Hey everyone. Here is my Lupo! Named Banshee because sheĀ screams on the motorway at 70mph š. Only picked her up a few days ago. First time Lupo owner and must admit the car is fun to drive! Anyhow hear is a few details about the car. Engine 1.0 standard 62k miles 5 speed manualĀ Poverty spec model Mot till September 2 owners from new And hereās a few pics now Iāve washed her. The banshee is going to get modded and fixed up as part of a daily driver project Iām building so please do keep checking back for updates if you are into that sort of thing. Cheers for now. Banshee
First mod... ReplacedĀ the TAPE player for somethingĀ more modern and now I can use my spotify in the car and have hands free telephone calls!Ā Winner š ReallyĀ simple job took all of ten mins to replace. Thankfully the original wiring has not been butchered up and I did not even need a ISO adapter as the head unit was just plug and play to the wiring loom in the dash saving me some cash and headaches. Sounds way better and the head unit was a bargain! Well impressed and decent specs for price too!Ā
Banshee
Today I fitted new brighter headlight bulbs and LEDĀ sidelight bulbs. Looks much more modern and the yellow lightĀ look has gone! See comparison pics.Ā š Ā Edited February 28, 2021 by Banshee
Banshee
Also dewipered the rear end.Ā
Banshee
After installing the new bulbs earlier I did notice the headlamps where hazy and abit yellow and full of road film gunge so cleaned them up bestĀ I could for now with some 2000 grit wet and dry and some headlight restoration cream. Looking abit better.Ā Ā I'm going to address the lacquer peel on front grill and bumper soon. Also just ordered some new PI 60mm springs to drop the banshee. Will beĀ fitting them next sometime next week when they arrive. Then going to look at replacing the wheels!Ā Ā

Y2ACP
Itās coming along nicely.Id keep the alloys I like them, what about a aftermarket rear spoiler to finish it off?
Banshee
I quite like the alloys too, considering there only stock 13s. Iām going to be lowering the car today so will see how she looks and rides on the wheels once thatās been done.Ā Ā I have a few plans for the banshee,Ā including anĀ engine swap later downĀ the line for something a little more special, Ā but one day at a time huh. RomeĀ wasnāt built in a day. š Edited March 3, 2021 by Banshee
Banshee
Ok so I got the car lowered today! 60mm all round in springs (for now). Took me a few hours and a few select words for a seized nut but I got there in the end! Also anyone wanting a decent trolley jack I highly recommend the one Iāve used today. I got it from Halfords. Itās the Halfords advanced 2 ton jack. It cost me Ā£120 and worth its weight in gold! Way better that those tiny little hand held jobbies!Ā Ā Anyway enough blabbering. Hereās some pics of the car during and after surgery lol.Ā Ā Ā
Banshee
And hereās a before and after for anyone wondering what 60mm springsĀ drop look like compared to standard springs on a VW Lupo.Ā I can confirm it does not rub or scrape and Iām only running stock 13inch rims. Next job coming up for the banshee???? A sub install! š Ā Edited March 3, 2021 by Banshee
mk2
Good progress. Looks great.Ā Daily updates too! How good is that?! šš»Ā You'll need to adjust the tracking up front. From memory, as you lower it, you increase toe-in quite a lot. So you scrub out the outer edge of the tyres quite quickly... Worth doing to keep the decent handling. Banshee
So hereās the sub Iām installing. Nothing special but will do for me. 250RMS Max and a 10inch active sub. Only paid 40 quid brand new for it so canāt complain!Ā
Skajme
Looks good, loads better now it's a bit lower. I'm impressed at what a good condition those sills appear to be in! You don't see that too often on a Lupo

mk2
There was a bigĀ online tyre place (can't remember which one), whoĀ used to sell rim and tyre sets (4), for winter running a few months back.Ā The rims were almost free at something Ā£10 each. TheirĀ steel rims looked almost exactly like G60s, but were black. I think "Polo"Ā is a good search keyword when you're there... Ā
