Ainsley Edward Brown
I have a 2002 1.4 Auto Lupo which I am having problems with. Driving along as per normal, the engine management and the emissions light comes on, the car goes into limp mode and when I move gear selector into neutral it produces a hefty slam. I can turn off the ignition and leave the car for an hour, go back to it and it is back to normal and will drive normally bur the warning lights stay on for a day or two. I have had a new throttle body fitted, but after a week or so the problem has returned. Can anyone please advise me as to what the problem is as it is a lovely car and with very low mileage for the year.
mk2
Sounds more like a box control problem. When's the last time you had BOTH fluids changed in the gearbox? Oh, and the gearbox fluid filter? Auto boxes need servicing as almost much as engines, but everyone forgets.
Ainsley Edward Brown
Thank you for your advice, I must admit that this is something nobody has suggested and I shall request this to be looked at when the car goes in next week for a new window motor to be fitted, Again many thanks for your help. mk2
Might not need a new window motor... check the how-to There's also a couple of magnets in the box, that indicate what condition it's in. Lots of bits=not good. A little bit of very fine fuzz, no problem.
