Dash not working

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I’m a very old member of club polo but recently bought a 52 plate 100bhp 16v for my daughters first car. I’ve had the car stood for about 3 months and I had the dreaded water ingress into the drivers foot well (problem fixed via you guys) however when this first happened I lost the Rev counter, then slowly afterward the fuel gauge, temp and speedo. I’ve also lost all lcd displays. Only things that light up on dash is abs (believe it to be a speed sensor) and the seat belt light! The indicator lights flash but nothing else! All relative fuses (in the car) seem intact! I’m at a loss. Any help would be amazing!

cheers guys

I had a similar issue before where my LCD time and mileage failed.

The issue was water damage to the instrument cluster pcb.

I would suggest to plug in an OBD2 and check for any issues.

Try a different cluster if you have access to one. I don't believe the cluster is mapped to the ECU so wont cause any issues with starting etc, but worth double checking.

Pull apart the cluster and check for any water damage.
