That TT filler is a first for me.

It does make the corner look crushed though as it kills the line

There is a way to do it but as I didn’t have the blank canvas I was limited to the amount I could do I just wanted rid of the bubbles but yeah the line bugged me too!! I got a new drama to worry about now!

I've got a box lying in the scrap/useful pile exactly like that.

End bearings have popped in the bodged on (by vw) sixth gear.

Good rebuild place with a Tig or a spare?

Is this common then I thought something had hit it on the road? And is it a full rebuild at this point thanks

Yeah, the end thrust force has popped it. I think it's magnesium, so specialist needed to TIG it. Then remachine it all. Time consuming for sure.

Depending on the internals and how much oil is left, the inners may still be ok (but I doubt it). I'd look for a new cover. Cheaper. Either way you need to remove the cover/end section. Could do it in place but, I'd pull the box.

I may have found a spare box to put in But I gotta trust it will be alright. At least that will give me time to get the broken one rebuilt nicely

I have an end plate with a similar hole in.

Asides from that I just have a spare box.

The broken one I have blasted another hole in the casing near the diff as well.

But I do know it was driven on for a little afterwards as well, hence why it isn't a rebuild job, just spares.

What's a box go for these days?

Vary really one guy of flea bay said 700 the other I’ve found with a nearly new clutch is 300 dunno what to expect for that really but it’s gotta be better than the one with a hole in it eh. Anything I can do to test it as it’s removed already
