David123
i have a 1.4 16v lupo was converted from a 1 litre. Ive recently changed the 1L throttle body to a 1.4 as the engine is 1.4. Its also has a open air filter, problems i am having is the engine isnt cooling its self down causing it to over heat and cut out. mk2
I don't think it has anything to do with the conversion. Have you checked the usual, like thermostat, fluid levels, coolant pump impellor (if original vdub flavour- made of plastic)? Although, the engine could be running lean, but I'm sure you got the mapping spot on, and you've been monitoring the O2 sensor readings. Ah, just thought, if the new throttle body has a "heat facility", to stop it from freezing up in winter (drop in air pressure causes moisture to condense out then freeze, jamming up throttle bodies), there could be an air lock caused by the circulation system being wrong...?
