Putting a bigger engine in Lupo

I charge more than that. Minimum 100h work.

Think about what is involved. Not just engine usually- even gearboxes and gear linkages need changing. Clutch system. Loom and  ECU. Fuel system. Exhaust. Induction system. Cooling. Drive flanges etc. That is for standard stuff. Then people usually want a turbo or supercharger. And suspension. And brakes. Then the bespoke stuff like Dewiper. Delock. Window tinting. Hifi. Full interior incl roof lining. Wheels. Paint job.

Cheaper to buy a much more expensive car!

If you have to pay people to do it then it will be cheaper to just find and buy one already done. If you can do most of it yourself then it's going to be your time and the parts plus whatever you have to pay to get done.

If you get a donor car and sell off most of the bits you wont need then the cost will be very small, plus you hear the engine running instead of trying to get an unknown engine running.

DIY with donor = a few hundred quid, otherwise as said above it will be a few thousand.

Thinking about it £4K is either 100 hours at £40 or 80 hours at £50 - that’s assuming VAT included - taking vat off your down to £41 & £33 daze rate. Seems very cheap.

plus whoever takes on the work is dealing with a lot of used parts and adapting the loom to work with left over in the Lupo - ignoring drive shafts and engine mounts
