julietdiane
Lupo TDi 1.4. The drivers side windows only goes down 2/3rds of the way, otherwise the window goes up and down with no problems. Any ideas? I have put in new up/down window switches about 3 months ago. Only stopped going fully down one week ago?
LR5V
Could be the loom within the door has come loose and is stopping the window fully opening - this happened to mine when I fixed the window cable, my loom is missing a few clips and was not sitting flush with the inner door skin, a strategically applied cable tie later and it was good again. To check take the lower panel off, in the area behind the speaker. hopefully its just clipping the loom back into place. When you close it up make sure the splash membrane is taped up to stop water getting into the cabin.

julietdiane
Thanks for the replies - Had the bottom panel off but the cable harness is not the problem. The windows stops short with a solid sounding clunk as if it was hitting something hard. I will have to take the top panel off and have a look. Rich
Try the plastic cover for the check strap.
