Darran
Hi all a few weeks ago I had my clutch cable replaced was n my lupo 1.7SDI and when I picked car up from local garage the mechanic told me that my clutch pedal feels heavy because the lever on the outside of the gearbox which the cable connects to is stiff and the only way to make that lose is to remove the gearbox and fit a new sleeve or something on that lever he said they break down in time so he said you may as well replace the clutch same time so does anybody know if this sounds right or is there a way I can grease or free up that lever thanks
Rich
I know what part he is talking about but I really don't see the relevance. I'd say heavy clutch plate springs and you should man up and get through it.
mk2
It's that little sleeve that rests inside the release bearing. Probably means some of the radial springs on the pressure plate have broken and the release bearing is trying to slide at an angle. New release bearing. New pressure plate. New sleeve. And new clutch as well while you're at it...
