Josh6459
I just want my little red lupo to be a bit more punchier
Nathan94
Not really, no.
mk2
Yes you can. But how much money do you have? The real question should be "how do i increase the instantaneous volumetric throughput of my 1L engine?". You could get potentially about 220hp with some reliability, 350hp with low reliability. Your limit is set by the flame front velocity, so you'd need to up compression to about 13:1. Then change cam. Change fuel. Add nitrous. Add turbine and supercharger. Change pistons. Change to non water based coolant. Gearbox. Lots More too.
Rich
Yes. Strip, strip and strip. Less weight, more power, minimal cost. Less refinement and comfort.
Sausage
Minimise drag losses, thin oils, tyres. Minimise weight.
Sausage
You could probably fool ecu into running a bit richer as well.
Skezza
Didn't you play Need For Speed? Buy a £20 aftermarket cone filter for +3bhp. Aftermarket exhaust tip +2bhp. Easy ways? Perhaps like Sausage says, a thinner oil (but when you will ultimately increase engine wear) and lose stuff like rear seats, carpets etc. You'll soon realise it's not all about power. weslangdon
As above not much you can do apart from putting the car on a crash diet, wider tyres are an absolute no no, if you can access body parts from a GTI, You can lose weight on the bonnet, front wings, doors and boot lid as these are all aluminium. Consider the money you have to spend doing this though and you'd just buy a faster car in the 1st instance
