Bad Dog
Ok so I've had trouble with the emissions on my 1.4Tdi at MOT time. So yesterday removed EGR valve and gave it a good clean. Put everything back together. Question is the vacuum powered rod that moves the butterfly valve in the EGR does that operate when you rev the engine or does it only work when the engine is under load (i.e driving) I gave it a bit of vacuum when the valve was off the car and at moved the butterfly, so it works. someone mentioned a solenoid ? where would i find this and how can i test it ? cheers Euan
Sausage
EGR is low revs, N18 is the valve on the bulkhead and VCDS will test it all for you and give live data of what is happening with it. Is yours standard or remapped?
Bad Dog
Remaped but EGR is still active.
julietdiane
I want to remove and replace my Lupo 1.4TDi EGR valve. However, the bottom EGR bolt is almost impossible to access because there is the exhaust\EGR flange right next to this bolt. How did you mange to undo this bolt and what tools did you use?
