JoeyEunos
Simple one... If the drum has a lip and the shoe adjuster needs to be popped up to release the drum from the hub, when re installing does the adjuster need to be moved down again before/after installation of the drum, or is it self adjusting/fit and forget? Thanks in advance gentlemen. Edited March 2, 2019 by JoeyEunos
mk2
It's self adjusting. Yeah, fit and forget. So fit the wedge so the spring is stretched, trying to pull it back down again. When the brake operates with the handbrake and then the footbrake, it slides down to take up the slack. Simple and neat system whoever came up with it. To remove, if you can't get the drum off, line up one of the wheel bolt holes with the adjuster wedge and slide it up with a screwdriver. A torch is handy there.
JoeyEunos
Yeah, that was my question really. So you don't need to re-adjust the adjuster wedge back into position after messing with it to get the drum off, it'll sort itself out, right? JoeyEunos
Aye, as I'd thought. Ages since I've done anything with drums. Thanks man.
