Rich
I would probably pay 600. But I would continue to throw miles on it.

Rich
An agg engine or a 2e will do many miles. An abf will want rings by 180k.

Rich
You brought up the topic of MK3 golf so you tell me.
Blue Loop
Polo and mkIV are boring cars. Knowing how long a Lupo GTi will last is interesting.

Rich
I would be tempted to ask how many engines to get to that mileage

I've seen an ABF on 500k+ on original everything. Only water pump was changed. Taxi...!

Rich
I'll argue this three pot diesel longevity. I've changed an engine in one. They sound like a tractor after a while. SDI though, durable
weslangdon
there have been a few on sale with over 200k on the clock
Blue Loop
If well kept, SDi's will last forever. What's surprising is that GTi's tend to last for quite long as well

mk2
Gtis will outlive every Lupo model. they are so desirable, so collectable that people who cherish them will quite simply keep them (in good condition) forever. They'll be discovered in barns and in locked bunkers in fifty years. There'll be one discovered at the back of a hay shed, with chickens roosting in the footwells... would love to have one, but I have just way too many cars now.
