Pete
Isn’t P0441 to do with that charcoal canister for vapour fumes? I’d be checking that out first.

Pete
If it’s like the gti it’l be offside next to the chassis leg near the inner wing.
cj1
If it is the above, I have a 1.0 AUC Polo at home and would have one available. (All engine parts for that matter) Edited November 16, 2018 by cj1
mk2
The first thing i'd try once located, is block the vapour feed from the canister into the vacuum side of the engine. It could be that the purge solenoid has jammed open, or is sticky. I generally bung a bolt in there and forget it. Blocked = no problems ever.

LR5V
In the snip below - 1 is the rough location of the purge solenoid - you will see a pipe connecting to the - 2 is the carbon canister

mk2
You don't need to remove it... follow the hoses, in particular the one that goes into the inlet plenum that dumps fumes in to the engine. It'll probably go via a solenoid valve. That's the pipe you'll want to shut off.
LR5V
I removed mine - it just slides up these slots and I capped off the solenoid with silicone cap and cable tie - routed the vent pipe into the wheel arch through one of the slots as you can see above Edited November 26, 2018 by LR5V
