Pete0309
54 Plate Lupo When I turn the steering wheel there is a strange noise, almost like sand between 2 glass plates, or as if there is grit in there. Does anyone know what this is and how much to repair (or how to repair!) Will the steering give out eventually if I don't get it fixed in time? cj1
Going with something inside the slip ring. Tbh I wouldn't be concerned if the sound is inside the car.

Assuming its power steering, check the fluid levels are correct, waxoyl the power steering pipework regularly, not much to go wrong really as the most common issue is a split pipe
Sausage
If it is external noise then low power steering fluid makes the pump groan and you can feel it thru the wheel.
