Steaming exhaust!

Recommended Posts

I’ve just removed and cleaned the egr valve on my 1.0 Lupo and refitted it as I had a warning light on the dash.

however, since re-fitting I’ve noticed my exhaust is steaming when being driven. It’s not a case of it’s cold and needs to warm up, it’s there after a few miles and it never happened before.

It starts and runs fine and I can’t work out what’s causing it. I’ve refilled the header tank and it doesn’t seem to be loosing any coolant.

Any ideas?

In canada when the outside temps are like -40c, the exhaust gas goes straight to snow! Ok, so really small snowflakes, but it basically comes out like white dust!

If that happened in our north (Scotland) they would work out ways to inject it.
