Hi

Ive heard a lot of differering options on what value should be in the fuse box on the right side of the engine ..

some say 20a

some say 30A

some say 40a

my gti has 20a and keeps blowing when the fan kicks in. The fan moves and works.

just had a new radiator fitted too.

Is the 20a fuse wrong?

cheers

I'll go have a look in a min. Seems more like a short than anything else though, a lower amp rated fuse would give in after a bit but it's unusual for it to spit its dummy out as soon as the component kicks in. Not at those amp ratings anyway.

The front fan on my old GTI stopped working and we replaced it, the replacement was an OEM part and would blow the 20a fuse every time it kicked in so I just put a 30a in and it worked like clockwork until the car was killed. Maybe not the correct solution but meh!
