666DUB
Hi, i have got the stuff together to do the above on my Lupo TDI.An Allard delete kit and Ligui moly diesel purge and all the bits an pieces.Going to use the guide from Skezza. What i want to know is ( no laughing now )Do i purge then fit the EGR kit or vica versa. Think the answer is obvious, but just want to make sure.Thanks,Tony. Sausage
I'd do one thing at a time and see if there's anything noticeably different.
Dblock
It doesn't matter. But IMO blocking the egr is more important. Edited October 18, 2015 by Dblock
666DUB
Finally got round to doing the purge and delete yesterday, it was more fiddly than i thought, anyway did the purge 1st which went ok, following instructions on here, hardly any, if any smoke/shite came out of the exhaust. Then fitted the delete kit. Early indications are it does seem nippier, picks up quicker.
Dblock
Good to hear. It isn't hard just a little tricky but it's done now. Where did you blank the egr from?
Skezza
Did you redline it?
666DUB
The EGR blank came with the Allard delete kit.Yep i redlined it several times and held it there for about 20 seconds at a time. The car does seem more responsive. One thing i have noticed though is when i switch the engine off it stops with a bit of a clunk/shudder. Which it didn't do before.
Dblock
Yes it will do that now. Your egr valve had an ASV or anti shudder valve fitted. I think it would basically close the butterfly valve to give a smooth turn off. Perfectly normal. Another restriction removed too.
