stator
Anyone got ideas of things to check?Car keeps throwing up EPC error on every journey. If you clear it at the start of the journey you might be able to drive 10 miles without it coming on again. But it always comes on at least onceMAP sensor implausible reading - intermittent. So far have done:Brake servo vacuum pipe replaced (error went away for 3 months after this was fixed)MAP sensor replacedVisible holes have been repaired
Sausage
What codes do you now have? You checked the wiring to the sensor? Some seem to get this problem and not resolve it, but it seems pretty much any leak in the induction side will throw it off.
stator
The error code is17566 - Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71): Implausible Signal P1158 - Intermittenthttp://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17566/P1158It seems to come up within a couple minuts of starting the engine from cold, but if I clear it it doesn't come on again, although I only drove it for 10 minutes. stator
Yes the MAP sensor was changed for a brand new one, and yes all the other errors have gone when that work was done. The transmission problem went away completely.Anyone know where the wiring for the MAP sensor goes? Is it accessible? Engine code is AUA 1.4 16v 75hpThanks for the input
Sausage
if your other codes went and your transmission thumping stopped when you changed the MAP sensor, why dont you think it's working? If you want confirmation, put the old one back in and see what happens. You probably have a leak somewhere.
stator
Didn't say it was broken The error is coming from the MAP sensor, just don't know the exact cause.
Sausage
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17566/P1158as your other faults cleared including your auto box thumping issue then it's pretty safe to say the wiring and new sensor are working, that leaves the hoses, which you have previously patched up. Any problems with wiring is usually near the sensor as that is exposed to damp, heat and flex (unless the loom has obviously been tampered with), or the connector itself. Dblock
I don't know but sometimes garage will fit a generic sensor that needs to be wired and but doesn't always work. Common with lambda sensors. You get wires instead of a connector to plug.
