Markydovey
Sorry it's a 2000 1.4 auto. Many thanks
Dblock
You take the old stuff out and put in new stuff....But seriously. Maybe see if you can dig up a workshop manual for it as auto's can be a bit of a pain. In a manual it's drain and refil. Not usually so easy in modern autos. Remember they usually have filters that need replacing too. Also make sure you get the right fluid too. I'd stick with oem for autos. just my opinion though. Sausage
Looks like a complete lot of faffing about to me:http://workshop-manuals.com/volkswagen/polo-mk3/power_transmission/automatic_gearbox_001/automatic_gearbox_control_assembly_housing/checking_atf_level_and_topping_up/that's Polo, but think it is same box. They are "filled for life" mind but if you have some problems defo worth changing the fluid to see what comes out.
