wehey
Hiya allI have had a good look around the forum and found a thread about the egr valve delete but unfortunately none of the pictures are visible. I am a little confused about the options tho. I have seen available on eBay an egr blanking plate but have also read about deleting the actual valve too. So what's the best way to go about this modification? Can anyone point me towards a guide? Thanks in advance
Sausage
From a few mins reading ...http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?15638-EGR-Valve-Bypass-Stealth-Racinglooks like a blanking plate and the resulting eml is turned off via remap.I know on some mondeos the eml light comes on with a blanking plate and the solution was a small (2 - 3mm) hole in the plate to allow a small amount to pass thru = no eml light. Not sure if you found this thread or not too: http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/90278-egr-delete-for-14-tdi-lupo/So in answer to your question, no i cant point you to a guide LOL... Dblock
IMO you want a "race pipe" to get rid of the butterfly valve although the golf tee mod can stop the egr working. Then get the blanking plate for the manifold and block it there. Get a gasket too.
wehey
Does just using a blanking plate throw up any ecu error codes/lights ? Edited August 26, 2015 by wehey
Sausage
Probably yes, get one with a hole in or drill a small one yourself. You could try it with no hole and if it throws an error then make the hole and clear the codes and try again if needed.
