LexG
Hi,So I needed some new wipers for a Gti , bought some Valeo ones from wiperblades.co.uk but they are pretty rubbish noisey and streaky, so that's already £20 wasted..Now get this .. Vw want £20 per wiper, plus they say you now have to change one arm for £60... Total for new wipers is £100!!! WTF??Does anyone know where I can get decent aero blades for the pin fitting ??Maybe I can send the Valeo ones back as they are pretty bad???Cheers
lupogtiboy
You can use the following VW wiper blades:O/S - 1J2 955 426 B £18.52 inc vatN/S - 1J2 955 425 B £19.85 inc vatOr as a set - 1J2 998 002 A - £31.97 inc vatOr even VW 'ECO' blades - JZW 998 002 C - £21.72 inc vatI have been using these for years on my GTI, both the same size as originally supplied. Silver!
I have used Bosch and the OE ones lupogtiboy listed above. Both good. Here's a tip: keep your old ones, or a new set, in your boot. A couple of years back a guy a VW Fest got his stolen; pretty hard to drive in the rain with no wiper blades and you try to get a set at 1800 on a Sunday. cj1
Just coming to realise how awkward finding wipers that fit the GTI arms is... Why everyone wants to convert to GTI arms is beyond me.

I'm sure i originally found the info for them on here somewhere Edited March 2, 2020 by Skajme
LR5V
Not seen any blades as slim as OEM - get chummy with your local TPS
davy26
I recently bought a set of wipers for mine for a little over £20 - and they are absolutely fine. My local VW Retailer quoted £54.26.
