weslangdon
I owned a 16v Scirroco Mk 2 for many years, it lost its power steering in its conversion to rhd, steering had great feel at speed and around corners but due to the weight over the front wheels [and I accept your lump is lighter] it was a nightmare in tight parking slots. I really wouldn't do it.
Silver!
Depends if you intend on parking it really.I'm not a lover of power steering; just doesn't have the connection, but I have got used to it.

My Mum has only driven my Loop once but she actually asked if it definitely had power steering haha...
Silver!
Yes it is; most have moved to electronic I think, Lupo is still hydraulic.
Sullading
well the car is becoming a track day can so im doing it to free up a little engine load and making the steering heavier isnt a problem, i drive old cars all day and i prefer it to power steering. so ill be converting when the car comes off the road.

Cooper_GTI
Drain the fluid out of it, take the pump off and get a shorter belt?
