  1. Hi everyone, nice to meet you. I got a lot of questions about my Lupo 1.4 16v Automatic based on AUA engine's references with 75 HP or 55 kW power. She got 130k+ kilometers. I'm wanting to know if a fuel changeover from Unleaded Petrol (or SP95 in European Union) to E85 (always to name given in European Union, the name in US or England, I think is Super-Ethanol, not sure), was possible. I know risks where I go on and consequences I will have if I do it badly. And an other question, can I upgrade some parts for a better performances from this car ? That's for your responses

  5. So I own a 1.4 16v lupo on a 1999, (has only covered around 58,500 miles) Coming home last night, the dreaded whyning began, however it didn't seem to get louder as you went faster. it sounded louder as you took your foot off the accelerator to come down the revs, anyway that aside. Seems to me like I need a new gear box. So the question is, dose anyone know if this model has rod-type gear linkage or is it cable gear linkage? Thanks.
  6. Hey guys.. Im reece, 19 year old that bought my lupo as my second car after owning a 73 beetle for a year. After going through your forums countless times for advice i have decided to become a member. My Lupo is a 1.4E in red but the previous owner chucked a 100bhp lump into it (i don't know the engine code but if you can give me advice il appreciate it) Cheers... Reece
  7. Hi I'm new here, but really need some help as I have zero mechanical knowledge. I was driving on an open road and thought I would give it some welly, I put my foot down and the car accelerated before suddenly losing most of it's power. The engine also doesn't tick-over very well and sounds like there is some kind of knocking? Below is a video I have just uploaded showing what the engine looks and sounds like. I took the video about 2mins after I got back, so the engine didn't even have time to cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIbKQtHPnC0&context=C405e2f5ADvjVQa1PpcFPLgAYi8dvbF82Q2Py9FyZpu4cg_d4xn-c= The car has had a problem with cutting out at idle then cold for a while. It was recently put through an MOT and needed a new cat and some kind of new sensor due to emissions. These replacements however did not fix the cutting out issue at idle when cold, and now the car seems to cut out even when warm unless I lower the revs slowly, but it really seems to be struggling. Any help shedding light on what is the problem will be much appreciated, as I really hope this isn't an expensive problem. Thanks Rhys
