  1. Hi guys, ive had the attached P0100 fault pop up on my car pointing to the MAF sensor but I can’t seem to locate it or find a replacement MAF anywhere that would fit. Am I being simple or does the Lupo gti not use a MAF sensor ? Bonus Fault - if anyone has any idea what the P1503 fault code could be for the alternator (I’ve already put a new alternator and belt on) you’d be helping big time lol
  2. There is a whining noise coming from the front of the car, sounds like it is coming from either 1 of 3 parts, the power steering pump, water pump or the alternator. The whining starts as soon as I turn the car on, the car is in neutral as i increase the revs the whining becomes faster and louder, the noise stays the same as i change gear and turn the steering wheel left to right, there is no grinding or loud knocking noises, cannot put my finger on the cause of the problem, My opinion is that it is one of the 3 bearings that has collapsed but which one i have no idea ?????? Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Hi Does anyone know if there should be a cover on the belts connected next to alternator please? Thank you Karen
  4. hi, so today i lost my alternator belt, i bought a new one and after a bit of fiddling got it all fitted (looked fine, in line etc). went to start it and the engine was just juddering and then slightly smokey? any ideas? my initial thought was tension but the tensioner is spring loaded so surely it cant over tighten itself?
  5. First post here, hoping for advice on what alternator I need for a SEAT Arosa 1.0 (AER,6H) 1999/T (with PAS, no A/C). Perhaps stupidly I removed the old one which was fitted by the previous owner but turned out to be faulty. I returned it as I had the receipt to Eurocarparts for cash. Then later went to buy the replacement which doesn't fit. I have tried several from Eurocarparts now and none fit. Also none of the ones I have tried seem to align the bottom bolt hole with anything on the engine. I can't remember if I even took a bottom bolt off of the old one! Whoever I ask (even SEAT) cannot tel me what I need without the old one to hand and they are normally faced with a list of 12 or so to choose from with no details available. At the moment I have bought a used Bosch 028 903 025 G form a breaker. The top bolt seems to fit yet the bottom bolt hole on the alternator still does not align and it is a 70A not a 90A like the previous one (something I do remember). Any help appreciated to get me out of what should have been a simple job.
  6. Hello ... just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Driving home last night my battery light came on on dashboard, didn't seem to loose any power and got home fine. Got in my car this morning to find it dead. Guessing it's the alternator finally packing in :-( any idea on cost for a new/re-built one to be fitted in a garage? Or are there any other cheaper alternatives, is it a difficult part to fit on a lupo if I was to get the part online? Thanks!!!
