My Car Diary

Currently Driving

  1. Hi there guys, This has been long overdue by me really! Been a proud Lupo owner for just over a year now and have been currently browsing the forums since before i had my car haha just never got round to making an account. Anyways, here is my Lupo! Bought the car late last year for £850 it had covered around 54000 miles and had five owners! and it was in a pretty bad way to be fair but it was good enough to be my first car! The bodywork was not the best, interior was nasty all the seats and drivers footwell were covered in fag burns, head lining had some strange blood/rust looking stain and the speedo didnt work! But all in all it was very local to me which was rare (never any lupos around here ) and i pretty much loved the car as soon as i saw it so yeah haha here is the build thread of my car, a lot has changed over this year but here goes: Apologies as majority of my pictures are taken from my iPhone (mainly instagram) if you have instagram follow me! @dom_vw <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8268025026/" title="IMG_0060 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8357/8268025026_f3b3eecfdf_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="IMG_0060"></a> Car a week or so after owning it completely standard <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8268025500/" title="IMG_0071 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8071/8268025500_abf90b4801_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="IMG_0071"></a> BMX Roadtrip me and a few friends and my mates Polo went on to Wirksworth not long after having my car <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8266957529/" title="IMG_0072 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8501/8266957529_1f8d35389c_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="IMG_0072"></a> Who says you cant fit 6 BMX's in a lupo? <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8266960273/" title="IMG_0260 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8357/8266960273_a5e8419e62_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="IMG_0260"></a> Bit of a bump! Hate Vauxhall drivers Instead of just replacing the wing and bumper i replaced the front end (the damage wasnt too bad but im fussy about different coloured panels although its black i know! haha) <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8266959745/" title="IMG_0257 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8340/8266959745_63a6a14f7f_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="IMG_0257"></a> Poor donor loop <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8266959745/" title="IMG_0257 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8340/8266959745_63a6a14f7f_z.jpg" width="480" height="640" alt="IMG_0257"></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8266960851/" title="IMG_0273 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8499/8266960851_96a8c09416_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="IMG_0273"></a> A few stickers later and the front end was complete! I know stickerbombing isnt to everyones taste but i did this myself with stickers i have collected over time, not using some ****ty sheet what you buy off ebay haha, was really happy with the outcome! open to any thoughts on it! <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8268030296/" title="IMG_0277 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8481/8268030296_1c1cf37452_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="IMG_0277"></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8268031234/" title="IMG_0279 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8486/8268031234_779f0356c2_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="IMG_0279"></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8266963193/" title="IMG_0281 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8078/8266963193_7a79709eb5_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="IMG_0281"></a> Here is a few images of when i finally got my wheels and coilies on! Currently just running typical JOM Bluelines with 13" german Zender alloys wrapped in nankangs all round. Wasnt happy with the front end at all! couldnt stand the car being different colours, I needed to do something about it! <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8268032670/" title="IMG_0289 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8491/8268032670_4f8f953408_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="IMG_0289"></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8268033194/" title="IMG_0290 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8349/8268033194_3cb0ef4d72_z.jpg" width="640" height="480" alt="IMG_0290"></a> <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8268034534/" title="IMG_0365 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8211/8268034534_06896a8c6f_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="IMG_0365"></a> Couples of pictures next to a standard Lupo, really does show how high standard ones are haha! The other picture is when i acquired a 3L rear bumper so had that one for a week or so just trial fitting it like. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8266966297/" title="IMG_0366 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8351/8266966297_f4977c8d33_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="IMG_0366"></a> Old horrible front door cards but heated R32 seats hmmmmm <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8266967117/" title="IMG_0480 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8077/8266967117_0b155b3ed3_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="IMG_0480"></a> Finally got the front end resprayed and also with the sport lower bumper and smoothed indicator panel allowing me to do the indicator mod in fogs <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dominicwilliams/8268036410/" title="IMG_0494 by DominicWilliams, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8197/8268036410_4a50b08930_z.jpg" width="640" height="640" alt="IMG_0494"></a> Borbet A's when i first got them with balloon tires haha! 2. Does anyone know of/used any good london or south east based car upholsterers good at retrimming, looking to get a GTI redone...
  3. Hi guys, just bought my first car! obviously had to be a lupo! spraying it from lilac/blue to all black. then want to get loads of mods on it not really engine mods cause of insurance is a shocker hopefully get pictures on soon!!
  4. Up for sale is my Lupo sport project because I have far too many projects, and just don't have the time to finish it! Everything is there to complete it. The engine is in position on the mounts but not fully wired up. I have attached the driveshafts and gear linkage but you will need to fit the exhaust manifold/intake/throttle body/fuel rail etc. and all wiring (all there in the engine bay, just needs connecting). It is a 1.4 16v Lupo Sport with 91000 miles. The car is still MOT'd but not sure how long. It has electric windows but the drivers side has come off runner, easy fix. The door check straps also creak when opening the doors but this is a very common problem and an easy fix can be found on the forum! Everything else is in good working order; brakes and handbrake, power steering etc. etc. Modifications include a wide-arch body kit (this seems to look more extreme in photo's than it does in real life), debadged grill with welded up bonnet, tinted windows, side exit exhaust, depo indicators, stripped out rear, corbeau bucket seats with momo harnesses, and a full respray in black with a purple tint - someone spent some serious money on this car at some stage! Please note: the coilovers and alloy wheels have been removed and sold, it is currently on standard suspension and steel wheels. The body kit needs some work in places, it has cracked at the rear arch, and started coming away on one of the front wings, so has been bonded back on. This could be an easy project for someone, and being a 2004 car I believe it is good value. The buckets/subframes/harnesses are worth a bit on their own, engine would be worth £300, and like I said everything is there to finish it off, I just don't have time to turn it into the 'show car' it was planned to be. Location: Corsham, nr. Bath Contact: Please feel free to PM, or text/call 07837 892836 This is a project, and I am very much open to offers for a quick sale because I need the storage space!!

  6. Hi, I have cloth seats at the moment & I'm going to prob buy some Lupo GTI leathers, does anyone know how easy they are to fit into a 1.0 Lupo at all? Or are they any other seats that are easy to straight fit to a 1.0 Lupo? Cheers
  7. Acoustic Cloth for Lupo Back Seats. I have some spare cloth the same as I used on my GTI seat backs. It’s a very close match to the Lupo boot floor carpet. Enough to do one pair of seat backs. £10 Posted
