  1. I am wondering is there a way to remove the plastic protection trim that is attached to the outside of the door to protect from people banging your door? If so can some body explain how to take it off please? Thanks
  2. Can anyone help? I am trying to remove the gearbox from Lupo SDI 1.7. It was going ok, until I got to the top rear engine brace, Doh! There doesn't appear to be enough 'flex' in the rubber mounts at each end to move the brace off the end of the engine bolt, to allow access to the bolt to remove it. This bolt has two threads, one 18mm A/F and the other 13mm A/F. I have tried to undo the bolt using an open ended spanner (a few degrees at a time using both sides of the open end), but I have realised that because there is not enough room to 'flex' the brace off I may not be able to get the bolt out far enoungh without someone taking the weight of the gearbox, moving it away from the engine as the bolt unscrews face by face. Is this the only way? I have considered removing the rear end of the 'top rear brace' (closest to the gearstick), there is one bolit visible, but is very tricky to get to and if I managed to get the bolt out it looks like the gearchange linkages go through the alloy brace casting. Everything else is ready to go, this is not going well! Has anyone done this before, and can offer any guidance? Gary
  3. I am wondering how to take the door panel off on my lupo, I'm looking to get rid of a dent and don't really wanna pay the price for it. Any pictures or videos would be a great help Thanks
  4. Hey Guys, I recently bought a Lupo 02 but having difficulties with my heater dials as there's no illumination, I've been told it could be bulbs, however, taking away part of the dash it looks as though it's built in. I'm happy to replace the whole unit, however, getting it out is proving somewhat difficult, the only solution I can see is to remove the entire lower dash, centre console and gator. Would be great if anyone has any quick solutions as I'd rather not undergo the above surgery for a lousy tenners work. My dash is of the MK2 model and isn't as simple as the MK1 model. Thanks
  5. Can the speaker and plastic adapter/ring be split or are they as a whole? Thanks!
  6. I have already put up a how to on this topic but as i've just looted the scrapyard for some spare wiring, i thought i'd make a video to show how simple it really is
  7. Tried to remove the lower valance to gain access to the fog lights. Initially I thought that I can do it by removing the bolts near the fogs and the arch liner, but nothing happened. Do I have to pull harder to split the valance from the bumper, or what's the idea?
  8. Hi all. I'm about to replace the head on my 52reg Lupo 1.0 8v. There's a cover protecting the exhaust manifold which has 2 bolts in the top, and are somehow attached further down, but that bolt is somewhat out of sight. Any idea as how to get that bolt out. Surely I do not need to remove the front to do just that ???
  9. Alright guys, I've done some searching and couldn't really come up with anything useful. Tomorrow i'm going to attempt to fit a new bumper to the car and I have no clue on how to remove the current one that is on the car, I'm going in blind. I would appreciate any tips / information on how to tackle it, where to start and where the screws and clips are located etc... I apologise if there is a blindingly obvious thread for this already Thanks
  10. Hi, can anyone link me to a guide / diagram of how to remove the dash? The link in this thread seems to be dead - http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/53868-dash-removal/ http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=118
