  4. Right I bought this car off a good friend of mine as a run around to get me out of the sh*t whilst i fixed my daily 330d bmw a few months back, but i ended up enjoying the car that much i ended up keeping it for months. Due to being a whorder and owning 5 cars including this one now its time to get realistic and sell off some of the fleet I am no means selling this one because its the worst one i own as its actually been the most reliable, but I'm sure you can understand that i will be keeping my 330d and 20vt Mk2 Golf and selling the rest SPEC Jazz Blue1.4s 16vX red (2000)12 Months MOT97,500 MilesRecent service / Including GearboxElectric WindowsCoiloversSmoothed Front BumperSmoothed Boot LidDe Bump StripedBlack Carbon Wrapped Roof And MirrorsRear Pop Out WindowsLegal Pressed PlatesMk4 Golf Recaro Front SeatsAll Black Interior And PlasticsBlack Golf GTi Steels With Good TreadBad Bits Usual Stone chipsFront bumper has a crack in it but it has been like it since my friend bought the car years ago so its not going to get any worsePassenger side electric window is temperamental from the drivers side switch. works fine from the passenger switch thoughThe Carbon wrap is not the best JobSince Ive Owned It I bought the car with only 1 Months MOT left on it and a few small problems which my friend just couldn't find the time to sort due to his new job working away. 5. After nearly a year of owning my Loop, I have only just clocked that most other Gti's have two catalytic converters on them and mine only has one, attached to the manifold, yet the sensor part way down the mid section is still in place and the pipe seems to be OEM ? Any ideas , I'm assuming that someone has removed it , will this cause an emissions test failure ?
  6. So car went for Mot other day and i nearly cried.... looks like a costly job and the mechanic just said may aswell leave it but i love the car too much so anyone who can help with anything please do. Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content at idle excessive [7.3.D.5] Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive [7.3.D.4] Exhaust emissions hydrocarbon content after 2nd fast idle excessive [7.3.D.4] Exhaust emission lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits [7.3.D.4] Windscreen washer provides insufficient washer liquid [8.2.3] Nearside inner front constant velocity joint gaiter insecure to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt ect [2.5.c.1a]
  7. Hi guys, Have checked through previous posts to check for faults so was after some advice on my emissions problem and another problem I noticed in the water tank? MOT on car was fine bar the emissions which were miles out! 0.76% instead of 0.30% 299 instead of 200 1.06 instead of 1.03 (don't have sheet with me so think that's it) Idle passed but all others failed at roughly above. Car has had a new exhaust including CAT fitted 3 months ago. Always starts hot or cold, no smoke. Now also this morning the water light came on so checked the levels and noticed a load of sludge in the water tank tipped a little hot water in to make up to the level and light went out. The car never over heats always sits in the middle of the gauge. It doesn't lose any oil or water as when topped water up I only put about 100ml in? The car has been sat for 4 weeks whilst we were on holiday and only ever does a 3 mile run when used, this is the first time it's moved to go for MOT. Does it need a blast up the motorway? Had water pump done with cam belt about 18 months ago. Car is in garage at the mo after failure and they have cleaned spark plugs as were crusted and will clean the throttle bodies tomorrow but any info I can throw at them would be greatly appreciated!!!
