Hello everybody! I've been posting my updates in the 'New Members' section but as I've done a little bit to her now, thought I'd put it up here. Nothing major will happen with the car (I don't think), but I'd like to slowly improve her and show others what can be done on a fairly tight/resonable budget. Anyway here's the story so far..... After driving my mums car for 10 months and saving up, I've finally been able to afford my own car! Being a long time lurker within this forum looking at various topics and advice from other users, I decided to buy a Lupo! I bought it in May with 62,000 miles on the clock with service history to back it up and it's only done 10,000 miles in the last 10 years! To date, I've covered about 1,500 miles including a trip to Goodwood for Players! It has great character and I love the quirky features such as the dials and pop up front seats! Mods wise I plan on lowering it at some stage and probably change the wheels for something nice and subtle with a bit of dish! So here she is when I got her...... 1st thing I was to change the cambelt just in case and also put a new seal around the gearbox as it was leaking oil A couple of months after, I let my mum drive the car for the 1st time, which resulted in a small fire and new clutch Safe to say she won't be driving it for a while! After that I saved up for some G60 steels which had come off a MK2 Golf which just needed a little cleaning. It's clear on this pic that she needs to be a bit lower! I also made some Lego dustcaps which I'm quite proud of! Then the exhaust middle box completly corroded so it sounded like a complete aninmal (until you saw it)! That dented the savings for the coilies, so I had to wait a bit more! Finally got the suspension bought a couple of weeks ago courtesy of Richard at Venom Motorsport. I read the pros and cons on here for the arguements between lowering springs/coilovers and also budget coilies/mid-range coilies, and in the end decided for a set of FK AK Street coilovers. Got booked in at a local garage for the use of the ramp and help me out a bit, until.... my alternator broke So the booking that was for the suspension was instead used for fixing the car, again. Here's the new one in.. However yesterday I finally got round to fitting the coilies (at last) and thanks to a fantasic guide on here how to fit them, it was fairly straight forward! Fronts are straight forward - take the old off and put the new ones back in the same order, but the rears were a little tricky to get to! This is the hard-to-get-to bit! It's just getting the tracking done and I'll get to see her after work today! Safe to say I can't wait and I'll put the pics up here! Future plans? I'm thinking about an iduction kit (just for the noise) and possibly a rain catcher exhaust I hope you like my thread

Hello I have a 2003 (53 plate) lupo 1.4 16v can anyone tell me if they have central locking as standard? If so who do I go about reprogramming a blank key/ best place to get blank key?

I've just purchased a Lupo Sport 1.4 and I'm looking to do a back box delete, and hopefully add a race tube in the near future. Ideally, a sportex system is in my price range and I like the sound of those, however I don't know which ones will fit my SPORT model? Also if anyone has any links to a race tube or mid pipe for it please link! Cheers

So some time I start my car and its perfectly fine, idols fine and revs fine, does have any rev hang at all then sometimes I start it and the revs just keep climbing till near 2k rpm and take ages to come back down to earth. Also sometimes it only starts happening after long drives then other days after doing the same drive it dosent happen. Would this be down to vaccum lines? I'm pretty certain I've no vaccum leaks but I'm looking for some answers or suggestions ?

Hi people, I'm very new here so please let me know if I'm posting in the wrong place! I am wondering if anyone has a pdf of the lupo's owners manual, the one you'd find in the glovebox (or glove slot in the lupo's case!) I will be getting a lupo soon (2000 1.4 16V S) but I'm the kinda guy that wants to know everything possible and how everything works on a car before he owns it ?. If anyone has anything they might think is useful please let me know. Thank you very much in advance

Wondering if anyone else has any experience with swapping out the original Lupo steering wheel with a golf one. Is it as simple as taking the current one off, and putting a golf one on? Or are there any hacks that need to be in place for this to be feasible? Any information will be helpful!!

Last night I went to close my driver side door and it wouldn’t budge at all, the door has always been heavy but recently there has been a crunching noise when it closes (I just assumed because the car is old and the doors are heavy) then when I went to close it last night there was no movement all and I’ve head to leave the die wide open

54 plate Lupo 1.4 When I slow down and press the clutch in, the engine does the slowing down sound and then does these little brr brr sounds, which sounds like it is revving up, but when I look at the rev counter it dips when it brrs. Is this normal or what could be causing this?

Anyone got any ideas why my Lupo GTi doesn't always start when the engine is warm? I've taken this to a couple of garages now, but non of them have even been able to replicate the fault, let alone fix it! An example I give them is I leave my house, and go to the petrol station (10 minute drive) ignition off, key out, leave it a couple of minutes while I fill up, go to start it again then it wont start (see attached video and try to ignore the beeping). After leaving the ignition off for 5-10 minutes then try and start the car, it'll work. The check engine light is on, the fault is apparently the engine temp sensor. However this has been replaced with an OEM part and all wiring has been check with nothing unusual to show. Any suggestions would be appreciated! 20180206_171553.mp4

Hello all, I'm seeking some valuation/price advice, as I MAY be tasked with selling my father-in laws Lupo and yes, the mileage is correct...see below for the details, Can anyone sensibly advise me, I'll reply collectively once I;ve received some feed back, thank you in advance. Lupo 1.4S, A/C, '55 plate.......16,900mls, yes 16,900mls....Dealer serviced all it's life, 2 owners father and son, one 25mm x 4mm scuff on a bumber corner and a 20mm craze in paint of rear bumper top, other than that, unmarked inside and out. What could it be worth?

Hi guys, I just turned 17 and got myself a Lupo 1.4 16V, have been driving it on a provisional until I pass my test, already done some work to it since it had been left for a couple of years in a garage. However I've noticed that my gas pedal sits at about half the height of my brake/clutch pedals, if I put my foot under it and lift the pedal it will freely lift to the same height as the others, but as soon as I let go it drops back down to halfway. I was thinking it is the throttle cable? Been told that the throttle is electric though so I'm not too sure how to go about it, any suggestions? Cheers, Chris

Hello, Looking for a lupo 1.4tdi as a commuter. Only seen 1 on auto trader but it's in Scotland, so a little too far; (393 miles), to not know if it's any good. Live near Banbury but happy to travel 100+ miles for the right car. If the car has been maintained with FSH, i would be happy to buy one with around 150k miles on. Preferably no rust but I know these cars are getting on a bit. Thanks for looking.

Hi there! Just got my first Lupo (1.4, 16v, black, open air) a couple of months back, and I love it to pieces. Aside from wanting to find other lupo owners that love their cars as much as I do, I'm also looking for some advice. The open air roof leaks something chronic, and even though I've pulled the whole thing out and stuck sealant under the roof panel, it's still letting water in Can anybody either - 1.) Give me advice on how you've DIY fixed this yourself? 2.) Direct me to someone currently breaking an open air/selling a secondhand roof OR 3.) have an idea of any businesses that might be able to redo the roof? Preferably at a non extortionate price, being a student doesn't allow much in terms of funds Hope this is all allowed! Thanks in advance for any help <3

Hi im currently running 8J ET25 (16”) on the rear of my lupo gti on a 205/40/16 with no problems (yet) So I’m wondering if I was to go for a 9J ET20 (16”) 215/35/16 which would be 7.7mm closer to the suspension and stick out 17.7mm more than my current wheels would It touch the suspension I know it’s only 7.7mm closer but I have it pretty tight as it is so I’m worried it will rub ? any help would be much appreciated (Both setups are almost exactly the same height) (I don’t have camber shims) Link to the wheels https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3SDM-0-05-4x100-16-X-8J-ET25-WHITE-SET-OF-4-WHEELS-POLO-LUPO-ASTRA-CORSA/172127515795?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D81df90ffbc604af3890ba4bf421189c3%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D172127515795%26itm%3D172127515795&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A7583e87e-030c-11e8-9585-74dbd1809629%7Cparentrq%3A358388461610a688acfc609bffe2e415%7Ciid%3A1 thanks ?

In a recent cold spell the missus went out to the car to drive to work and on starting the car the wipers failed to operate. She tried the stalk for the rear wiper and the screenwash but the stalk was completely dead. Immediately I jumped to fuse but it's unlikely that all three signals are on the same fuse (wash, front wipe and rear). I presume it's likely to be stalk failure but I can't imagine the switch being over CAN and failing the same as the Mk4 golf stalks have a tendency to. I'll check the fuses and relays tonight and then look at replacing the stalk at worse case. Anyone had similar before? Cheers.

Looking at getting a scorpion back box for my Lupo sport. I've heard they can be a bit quiet so i was thinking if i took out the middle silencer and put a straight through pipe to the back box would it be noticeably louder?
