  1. Make: Silver Lupo Gti 1.6 (6 Sped Manual Gearbox) MOT: January 2018 Engine: 1.6Gti Location: Peterborough/Cambridgeshire Price: 1600 ovno So I am testing the waters for selling my Lupo Gti (6 Speed) with an honest all I know ad. I originally bought this not knowing much about the Lupo’s (Other than I wanted one) It was to be used as a second car that I could spend a bit of time working on and have some fun with, I paid 1800 for it in (I believe) May last year. I recently inherited a bit of money and have since bought a classic beetle that I tend to spend some money on which is why I am debating selling the Lupo. Below I will list the usual Good and Bad: Bad Points: Needs a new starter motor (makes classic noise sometimes on start) I can have this fixed if I do sell Door straps aren’t great, Could do with replacing as doors do not stay open. Bit of rust where one of the previous owner rolled the arches, this is just on the actual rolled bit so isn’t that bad There was previously a bit of a Gearbox Leak and is a bit stiff going into 2nd Gear – I had my mechanic seal the leak which seems to of sorted this and with some new Gearbox oil 2nd gear is a lot better, I drive the car back and forth to work sometimes and its causes me no drama. There are bits of rust around the car in the usual Lupo places bottom of the doors etc. – nothing major though I reversed off my drive and scraped a little bit of the rear arch on my friends van – its scraped and dented the side a little bit but this is fresh so there is no rust and it’s not really bad. I’ve probably made it sound a lot worse than what it actually is, but one thing I hate Is buying a car and then having horrible surprises so I would rather be honest as I do believe in Karma. Good Points: Just had a new MOT (15/01/2017) Had a full service (15/01/2017) Cambelt and HT Leads replaced 4 Good Tyres A book with LOTS of receipts and history (Even managed to find a couple of the old owners on Facebook who had great things to say about the car) New front brake discs and pads New wiper blades Completely Standard (Expect the wheels have been sprayed black at some point) Interior is all in great condition for the age No excessive smoke or smells from exhaust Pulls in every gear and drives well (really is faster than I expected) I managed to get the rear spoiler brake to work J The car has done 157k this worried me at first and I did initially want to change it but after I had a mechanic look around he advised me that the engine seems fine and he thinks it would be a waste to change now as it runs ok, the engine bay all looks clean and no sign of leakage. I am open to offers but please nothing silly, I understand it’s not in show condition but you have to really see it in person it’s not a dog by any means but just needs a bit of TLC. If I can’t get a decent enough sale I will just keep it and tidy it up myself over time. I have been looking on eBay for a while and I yet to see many sell for less than £3000 especially for a 6 speed. I am currently at work below is the only picture I have on my phone – but I will certainly post some more so you get a better picture. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
  2. Anyone have a spare gear knob? Round style. Also Interior Door Handles Lupo or Arosa in Black. It's for a Mk1 Arosa. Based in Northern Ireland but happy to pay postage.
  3. Hi I've got a 03 seat arosa which the brake lights will not go off I've checked the fuse and that's working I also changed the brake light switch and still have had no luck I am exchanging the switch tomorrow as it may be faulty as when I take the switch off completely the lights go off. I want to keep my mind open to all possibilities is there anything else that could be keeping them on btw this is my first car and I'm 18 lol need to get my car in the road asap appreciate any suggestions and help
  4. Hi All, So I've bought a Silver Lupo GTi. 54 plate and it's been here for it's entire life as far as I'm aware. There are probably some on here who know more about it than me, but here's a few photographs taken on the first weekend of ownership... In the front garden with her stablemate... Lupo want's to play... House of Bruar, A9. No mods happening, she's staying pretty much as she is. She already has KW coilovers (if anyone knows exactly what type please let me know), so I'm more than happy on that front. GTi badge going back on the rear. If I'm paying the insurance, then I want people to know! Single head CD player on route. I've bought a standard GTi 6 speed gear knob, but I'm feeling the love for the Momo solid machined alloy/stainless ball. Looking for a 'new' space saver as I want to carry one on long trips. I'm gonna get a bag made up so it'll sit in the boot. So if anyone has a spacesaver up for grabs. Must be as new. TSO says I'm like a 14 year old boy looking at a pair of boobs in the flesh for the first time! I tend to agree! Ray
  5. Hi all, is anyone selling a metallic green rear bumper in excellent condition in the Liverpool area? Cheers, Luke
  6. hi, so today i lost my alternator belt, i bought a new one and after a bit of fiddling got it all fitted (looked fine, in line etc). went to start it and the engine was just juddering and then slightly smokey? any ideas? my initial thought was tension but the tensioner is spring loaded so surely it cant over tighten itself?

  10. I noticed all 3 of my brake lights have gone on my 2003 1.0 VW Lupo. So instantly thinking it's the switch. Have replaced the switch and they still don't work. Checked the fuse and they're fine. Just for good measure I replaced the bulbs and still don't work. What else could it be??? Can anyone help?

  12. Hi guys, I'm new here. Wanted to ask if I can do a bolt on gearbox change from any 1.9TDI (doesn't matter if it's 5 or 6-speed)? Also, I had a remap and it's running about 96bhp and 280Nm. Are a bigger turbo, injectors and another remap going to get me to about 150? Thank you
  13. Brand New box of PAGID brake shoes for a lupo/Arosa 4 shoes for drum brakes, bought but never fitted from ECP, for about £40 or something. in Blackpool, cant post for £8 or pick up from Blackpool/Barnoldswick (in between) looking for £25.
  14. hi there on the hunt for some solutions. My lupo heater is really struggling to blow any hot air and with winter here its become more of an issue. I recently got a new fuse for the heater which sorted the problem of it only blowing on 4 so now its working on all settings. The only time i get any heat is if im only going slow so im assuming having less air coming in to the engine gives it more time to heat and this is the only time the temperature guage lifts off the bottom of the scale as well. but if i speed up over 15mph it quickly goes back to cold. as i said ive already changed the fuse and i topped up the coolant as well to see if that was the problem but it hasnt really helped. could it be an issue with my drivers side fuses or something about the air intake for the engine? the car came with no connection piece to the cold air intake (http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?/topic/103554-oil-breather-pipe-missing-what-do-i-need-to-do/#comment-1167942) would this be the cause of the problem? as allways all help is appreciated
  15. Anybody have any experience with tentioners and belts? When the cars ticking over there's a whining noise coming from somewhere in the engine bay and gets worse when you add revs! I thought it could be belt tensioner? Like **** bearings or something but wanted to be sure before ordering the part! If anyone has had any experience with something for like this and can help I'll be very grateful! Cheers ??

  17. Seen a light blue stanced Lupo in Glasgow city centre late last night, mad wee car. The front right fender looked wooden so you'll know if its yours lol. Is it anyone on here? Got a pic if anyone is interested but the camber is a bit dodgy so I wouldn't show the regi plate.

    BBS RX2

I've got some bbs rx2's which I had planned to put on my lupo, I bought some cheap 195/50/15 tyres for them As that's what the guy at the garage and my dad recommended,I personally thought they looked way too fat but accepted it and put them on, after only about 3 days id rubbed most of my inner arch out and the tyre wasn't looking great, wondered if anyone knows a good narrower skinnier tyre size which looks alright and what spacers I might need to get a better fitment. Pictures show how it sat with them on, wondering if I'd need to raise it at the front at all. Cheers for any help guys. -Ollie
  19. As you can probably tell, no one is bothered about modifying their fox any more what i think is a huge shame. I have had mine for a few months now and am not a fan of the stock steering wheel but i really like the Lupo one. Question is does anyone know if it will fit the Fox? And if you have one for sale how much would you want for it? Thanks, Chris.
  20. VW Lupo 1.6 GTI 6 speed with full factory options. Originally registered to VW UK Head office.Flash Red with original Bathurst alloys sprayed black70831 MilesFull Service HistoryJust serviced 3/9/201611 Months MOTBlack Heated Leather seats (RARE)Electric Sunroof (EXTREMELY RARE)AirconOriginal VW Cassette with single cd2 original working VW button keys with spare bladeOriginal VW black leather binder with complete manuals and service book.I have owned the car for 4 yrs, adament i wanted to keep it as original as possible to ensure this stays a rare future classic. I have had to replace the alternator and the battery 2 yrs ago, I used to have a company car so the Lupo sat in the garage for a while unused which also helped save on mileage! It was originally a VW UK car (not a dealer demo) with me being the 3rd private owner. 7 VW main dealer Service stamps followed by 2 vw specialist service stamps and stamp for additional cam belt, water pump and auxiliary belt replaced 28/4/14 @57765 miles.I replaced all 4 tyres with Toyo T1R, 18 months ago which have only covered about 6000 miles.Due to growing children, I cannot keep her anymore and desperately hope she's goes to a home that looks after her as much as we have. These are becoming VERY RARE and classic especially with the factory options. BEWARE as I have noticed quite a few imports for sale lately, please note this car started life with VW UK head office hence the factory options and condition.Bad bits from someone with OCD!-There is a small stone chip just above n/s/r arch, a small scratch bottom corner n/s rear bumper and slight wear around boot handle. That is me being picky. The leather is in exceptional condition. Please bear in mind this is a 14yr old car that is in very good condition for its age with original bodywork including the alloy doors, wings and bonnet.£4995 OVNO Serious buyers, NO time wasters please.I have been as honest as possible with this advert, so get yourself a low mileage, fantastic condition future classic!I am based in Maidstone, Kent. 07904042022Thanks for looking.
  21. Hello all. I've owned my little 1.0 Litre Lupo for just a bit over a year. I thought now is the time to finally give an in depth view of how it is sitting currently and how it got to there. This is gonna be very in depth and may be a bit boring to read or look through but I honestly just want to have a permanent place to look at the progression of my little car for my own satisfaction. If even one person finds it interesting then that's just a bonus! So here we go. Lets have a quick look at the car when I bought it in October 2014. I was so excited to just be able to drive any car. A lupo is definitely not what came to mind for my first car but it was volkswagen, with nice blue dials! ooooh very fancy I thought. Now here is how it sits as of around Ocotober 2015. One year later. (Bottom right photo is actually a few months ago, no splitter and some other small things not done to it) Never thought I would still even own this car by now nevermind have it sitting like this. But hey I have grown attached and I'm super excited for where its gonna end up. Lots of stuff still planned for it! Just recently bought a 1600cc 16 valve Polo GTI engine so...yeah Obvious influences from other members of the lupo community. Club Lupo's Haakon colour choice is probably the most obvious. Don_Larss from instagram totally inspired me to put arches on this thing and there plenty of others Ive stole ideas from. So thanks to all who have helped. Anyway its 2:00 in the morning so I'll update this another time with the actual progression from start to now. Then I'll hopefully start posting updates to the finish of this thing! If any of you have read this thanks!
