  1. I have just purchased my first lupo, but the stereo (single din) doesn't work and the cup holders are broken, as well as the air vents. I have therefore come to the conclusion that a nice shiny touch screen double din unit would be lovely instead. Browsing the interweb I have found a great unit for a reasonable price that has come off a Lupo GTI.It includes the whole middle section of the dahboard (including the air vents) and has the high up hazard button. Unfortunately as my Lupo is 1999 T reg it has the different styled early dash with the hazard button down the bottom. Would this later dash still fit my Lupo, if I rewired in a later hazard button to the triangle or plugged it somehow? cheers Jordan
  2. Hi, I'm getting really bad vibrating thro' my pedals also when I let off the accelerator there seems to be movement i.e. like a mount as broken. The gearbox mount is only 6 month old so I’m thinking it can’t be that, would a top mount allow the engine to move if worn or is there anything else I need to look for? cheers
  3. hi can any one post a pic of there lupo gti rear cards with the speaker ports so i can try and make mine look something like ?
  4. Morning All, I've recently had to replace the high level brake light on my 05 GTi, obviously the spoiler had to come off and sadly wasn't in the best of states so needed a respray. Anyway it's been sprayed twice now by the body shop and both times I've ended up with bubbles in the finish, they've said its common with Fibreglass parts due to the air inside working its way to the surface when the temperature changes. Does anyone know a way around this, they've said they can't bake it obviously and that there's no way around it but I was hoping one of you guys may have had one sprayed yourselves and know a trick or a better bodyshop who can do it. I'm in the Walsall area. Thanks Ste
  5. ciao! i need help guys,, i have a lupo gti ,,and i need left front wing and front upper bumper, hope anyone will help me,,and another thing ,does a lupo 3l font wing is the same as the gti..thanks guys! this site is awesome!
  6. Hello this is my first post so go easy... Im 17 and have brought a 1.4 16v lupo (fantasia green) with a 1.6 16v from a polo GTI engine in it. Due to electronics the car is running like **** because I have had to run the 1.4 throttle body 1.4 inlet manifold (only 10mm all round different) 1.4 ECU and a few other bits which dont really affect it. The car runs really lumpy and very uneven. I have looked into decoding the ECU and getting all the parts in order to do the change over and with all the electronic jobs its over £1200! I understand this is what ill have to do eventually but will I need the polo 1.6 16v wiring loom? As i was wondering if the 1.4 loom will fit directly onto the 1.6 ECU or is this different? and also can you think of anything else that i'll need as I understand some people on here know a lot more about this than me.... LAST THING The 1.6 has a sensor on the top where the 1.4 didn't. I was wondering what it is? I think its a cam sensor but I'm not 100% and would i need to connect it up or would the people decoding the ECU disable it? Thanks James And i realise I may have not done it perfect and may have to do things differently thats why I'm asking... Here it is so far. 16" CUPS
  7. Afternoon guys, I was just updating my build thread whilst watching the channel Watch +1 and a police programme was on. On this was a cop on the motorway with his speed gun and then a Lupo GTi (Silver) went zooming past at 124 mph. Firstly I was quite impressed by the speed and secondly the driver had only been driving a year, and he's driving a GTi Anyone else seen this? Joe
  8. Cringing at my dangley exhaust Seen a few random posts about people pulling the exhaust up so it sits a little higher than standard. Can't dig them up again Any ideas how this is done?
  9. Hello all, Regrettably; and i know people always use that word but it really is upsetting :'( i am going to be selling my Lupo Gti in the coming weeks. Ive had the car for over 2 years and used it as a daily from 20k on the clock to its current 65k. Im going to be doing an even higher millage now and the time has come to get something more practical. I love this car so much ill probably cry when it goes but i thought id gauge interest as unlike most, i actually care where this car is going and i want it to find a nice home where its giving the care and attention ive bestowed upon it. Im going to type the spec down with all the work ive had done. Most importantly please note that how you want the spec is entirely up to the eventual buyer. Some parts are variable and can be swapped for standard if preferred. 02 plate (1st registered Jan 03) 6 Speed 65,000 miles (will change as daily) 1 previous owner Reflex Silver Full service history and lots and lots of receipts for all consumables and work carried out Immaculate cloth interior Original Red trim Gti floor mats in good nik "GTI" chrome door sill protectors Rear aero wiper conversion Rear Cambridge lights (with orange internal indicator bits removed and specialist bulbs) Black VW badges front and back Red bead front grill trim Anniversary Gti front badge KW V1 Inox fully adjustable coil overs (can be swapped for standard suspension) Immaculate 15" Red BBS cross spokes, 1 piece, refurbed 2 months ago (black with red bead 15" multi spoke can be put on if preferred) Front and back Black Diamond drilled and grooved brake discs (fast road) with Black Diamond Predator pads all round Goodridge braided brake lines Janspeed full cat back stainless exhaust system BMC CDA air filter plumbed in with integral pipe for oil breather (can be swapped for standard air box if preferred) PIAA top spec halogens and LED side lights to match the beautiful xenons Almost brand new tyres all round (firestone) Just being MOT'd today Full service next week Taxed till end of July Ive had the cambelt done twice since ive owned it (last done 8 months ago) 15mm Hub centric rear wheel spacers (can be removed if preferred) Bee sting ally aerial The car looks amazing and gets washed every week, polished in the summer months to give it a fantastic shine. The car has been photographed by "Fast Car Magazine" at local meets and really turns heads for the right reasons. I owned a Lupo Sport before this and always wanted the Gti. Ive been a member of the club since my first Lupo and the club website gets a small slot on rear windows. Whenever any work has needed doing or parts have needed replacing ive bought the best i could afford or spent the most i could, money never an issue ive always wanted the best for this car. Unfortunately my already large journey to work is now getting longer and i need another car for these journeys. This is the best car ive ever owned and will always remain in my heart as my dream car. Gutted to let it go and ill probably regret it when it does. Ill be 100% honest there is a small scuff on the rear nearside arch where some goon scraped it but it isnt huge and car be repaired very easily and cheaply (i may do this before i sell). There is also a 5mm stone chip on the bonnet. Ive sealed/primed/ and painted in it and its barely noticeable. There is no rust on the car, no dents! and no noticeable scratches anywhere. Polishes up a beaut! Ok so depending on whether or not the buyer wants the suspension/BMC CDA and rims im looking for.... £5000 For pictures please see my build thread next to my signature on this post Any questions please dont hesitate to ask Let me know if you are potentially interested Based near Plymouth
  10. Just cleaned up the Lupo and thought i'd share a few photos... Any comments or criticism welcome; got a few things still to do with it, so i know it's not perfect and the photos are clearly edited....
  11. Hi people i want to know how much would it cost me to drop a eng in my lupo gti i have 2grand to spend max can i get a eng and all the ecu and get some to put it in for me for all that price and tune it up too. Please some give me advice or something thanks
  12. So I bought my first Lupo GTi yesterday... on the drive back everything seemed fine and dandy as for the first 30/40 miles of the journey I didnt exceed 50mph.... I hit the motorway and from 60ish to about 80 there is an almighty wobble in the car and when i push throttle down and what seems like a very high pitched buzz and vibration.... now what im thinking (hoping) is wheel bearing??? Does this sound right? Also when i am at about 2000rpm and put my foot down the car stutters and splurts a bit before it goes anywhere... what could this be? It has just been serviced (apparently) and has (apparently) had Cam belt changed last week as per request for sale...? I bought the car from Dubbersport VW's outiside of Huddersfiled has anybody had dealings with them? Also the radio dont work but thats by the by.... to say im annoyed is an understatement! Thoughts?

  15. Hi everyone not quite sure how these forums work been looking around the last few days trying to get the hang of it so take it easy on me. Anyways I bought a Vw lupo last week was originally a 1 litre and it was converted into a 1.6 gti from a polo. Now I know that the guy that did the conversion and he could not get a lume for it so wired it him self. There is a few problems as you would imagine. There's a few connections loose and it looks bad. I am wondering would I need just an engine lume or a full lume or what? Money is a bit of a problem because I'm in the middle of my own conversion but I had to buy the lupo once i seen it. And advice is welcome. Cheers
