After reading through pages and pages of how to and build threads im still at a loose end as to what to do. Basically the scenario is this.... I currently have a 1.0 Lupo, Poverty spec, no leccy windows, now power steering, no abs (I dont think) I also have an opportunity to buy a mk4 polo 1.6gl with power steering etc A polo gti convertion has come into my sights with the following parts: Engine Gearbox Driveshafts Subframe Power steering rack 95% of power steering pipe work, ARB Bottom Arms Hubs Brakes with abs sensors abs pump/unit rad and water pipes full engine bay loom Full interior loom Full abs loom clocks Steering column with ignition barrel, pedal box doorlocks rear disc setup including abs sensors Fuse Box Relays Things that I havent got are fuel pump and fuel lines, power steering resevoir and the pipe from that to pump and a Key, but I have a chassis number if that helps. My question is this. What further parts do I require to convert to either vehicle. In peoples opinion, which is the easiest?

Here I have for sale my Black Lupo Gti 2001 1.6 16v, this is the rare and more reliable 5-speed model. These cars have a huge following and are becoming increasingly rare! The milage currently sits at 105,000 which is low for a car of this age, it has been my pride and joy for the time I have owned it and I will be sad to see it go. This is no ordinary lupo and all modifications and upgrades have been made using the highest quality parts. It has been very well looked after and lots of money has been spent. Inside: Electric windows Air conditioning Twin cup holders Original GTI mats Red GTI seatbelts Sony Xplod Head unit Uprated door speakers All of the above work as they should and the interior is very tidy. Outside: OZ racing super tourismo wheels (some kerb marks and one of the centre caps is missing) The paintwork is very clean and shiny and looks great in the sun, paint code - L041 The VW and GTI badges have been finished in purple (looks great) The windows are tinted (front and back) Full HID headlamps and side lights On the whole the body work is very tidy, there are a couple of imperfections including a few stone chips on the bonnet and a small scuff on the passenger side rear quarter but this is to be expected on a car of this age. Performance mods: BMC CDA Air filter Long life stainless steel cat back exhaust (sounds amazing) Lowered on high quality coil overs Golf Gr60 brakes This is a brilliant example of the lupo GTI and it is very mechanically sound, starts first time every time and drives like a dream with no unusual knocks or bangs. It is also very quick and lots of fun to drive. 6 months tax 12 months MOT Full service history Since I have owned this car the following work has been carried out; New check straps on both doors New coil pack, plugs and leads Full service - July 2013 New gear box and clutch fitted See classified section for pics, £2900 Ono Sold as seen Any questions text me - 07590635644 Thanks for looking Ash

Been thinking about getting aero wipers but i just cannot justify the ludicrous price for GTI arms. In my searches i've found that a lot of people are putting GTI wipers on their Corrado's.. They are also putting TT arms on their Corrado's. If GTI arms fit Corrado's.. and TT arms fit Corrado's.. then surely TT arms will fit Lupo's no? Or am i missing something?

Hey guys, I'm new to this so apologies if I've posted in the wrong place.. I have a standard 1.4 Lupo (as far as I'm aware...) but it has a spoiler with a brake light in, like that of a GTI. It was owned by some elderly lady before me so I very much doubt she had this added on. Does anyone know why my car has this, or is it just one of those things? Not complaining but my boyfriend has an identical Lupo, just without the spoiler, and is becoming increasingly jealous... Any ideas? Cheers x

hi, I have now had my Lupo GTI for 18 months. I have been after one for a long time. I managed to get a 02 plate GTI 53k on the clock in flash red with heated black leather, sunroof, a/c and vw single cd under original head unit. it has the original bathursts but they have been sprayed black. I have had it sorned as i have a company car but I now have decided I miss it too much and want to get it back on the road. Question-Do I keep it standard as a classic and even get the bathursts put back to standard, or do I mod it? it is tempting to mod it after what I have read on here but I am at the age where I appreciate classic originals that are detailed.

Hi, I'm new here but have had my Lupo for over a year now. I have many Ideas but little funds at the moment but was interested in changing the front end out I've seen a few different things around some as ridiculous as the A3 aftermarket part I was looking at the 3L front end as i like the lights and grille but i prefere the bottom to the GTi. Does anyone know if the two combine together straight of they need some work to get them to fit to each other and then to my 99' 1.7 SDi Also any ideas on part prices that have been heard to pay before of any best places to source parts. (I know Ebay is good)

Hi, over the past few days my lupo has occasionally decided it doesn't want to start. The ignition will turn the engine over but I've had to pump the throttle a few times before it will eventually come to life. Also its not just starting from cold, the other day i drove to the shops, left it for 20 minutes, came back and it wouldn't start. any ideas?

Hi, Just changed out the front brakes to Brembo Max discs and pads and really happy with the result.... but all that keeps getting shown up by those rusty looking drums on the back. I am wondering if anyone has a sport rear axle with discs that I can buy or knows of a place I can get one!!?? I'm in Aberdeen FYI Thanks alot

Hello, Wondering about a 1.0 Lupo and a middle exhaust like the GTI version, i`m wondering if anyone has made there exhaust in the middle or have they put the gti bumpers on a non-gti lupo, this properly sounds stupid but if i could get any advice on this it would be great. Cheers

I'm looking for a gti spoiler but can't seem to find one. Is the Rieger spoiler any good? Does it have a gap between the roof and the spoiler? Also what do you do to the brake light if you put one on? And is it easy to fit?

Right, i've bought a GTI spoiler off eBay but it has come with no fixings, i want to fit it properly onto my arosa, i know this will involve drilling through my bootlid.. sketchy business What fixings are there because on the parts diagram: There seem to be some sort of spacers (part number please)? What size (and how many) bolts hold it on and what size holes get drilled for them? Any info on this would be a massive help.

Does any one have or know anyone who has a: LUPO GTI SPOILER for sale please contact me on here or text me if so... Thank you, Owen.

Hi guys. New car... Lupo GTI! Only mods so far are having it lowered and ive bought some g60 steelies, and put some 195 -45 - 15 goodyear eagle f1 assymetric 2 tyres on. Its like driving a go kart now! Oh and its also had a pretty sweet induction kit on. I bought it without the GTI badges on but i want them both back on. Any thoughts on what else i can do to subtly improve the interior and exterior? (I Used to have a polo 6n)

Hi guys! not long had my lupo gti, Y Reg 2001. Ive seen some cool photos of interiors where lupos have had a docking station for their ipods and a drinks holder. I assume they're from another spec/model or manufacturer. Mine has the console with a cd player and cassette player. Where can i get one and where can i fit it? Any help would be great, Thanks! Liam

So, we at Dirty Stancing and Garage Midnight acquired a block, in quite a sorry state, and I have taken it upon myself to make it not a sorry state. This little block has quite the lovely story behind it. Starting life in a very good friend of ours' Lupo, a Mr Robin Marriott. After serving its time in his little show stunner it had taken to having a bit of a smoke, so he stripped it out and was planning on re building it. In the mean time fitting a new, non smoky engine to his Lupo. This meant that this poor block sat on an engine stand never to be touched again... until Levi bought it, and put it in his garage... where it also didn't get much attention... and then we got our FILTHY hands on it. it a bit of a state I must admit... once we had had a good long think about what to do with it, still undecided, we stuffed it on the engine stand and started to deconstruct. things dont happen all that fast here... easily distracted, and like i said, we weren't sure where we were going with this so it was really for me to learn what can be done. Having never worked on an engine before, its all new to me, so its a learning curve. Got most of the front end off and started to clean this DUTeeeyyyy thing up. and the sump off and demucked! couple of bits bought whilst i had the cash moneys sitting there so its pretty much ready for the next few bits. Next on the agenda is get these valves out and have a go at porting and polishing this head. got loads of room to play with with these new gaskets and then we are going to fab a manifold to fit that so we can go wild! Then all there is to think about is cams, lightened flywheel and carbs, which is the decision we have come to for this build. The point/plan of this build is for me to learn, so there will be no sending it off for others to do. EVERYthing is going to (hopefully) be done inside the confines of Culo Diablo/Dirty Stancing/Garage Midnight. (which you can follow as individual hashtags on instagram) hoping to get around 160bhp from it, but to be honest like ive said, its just to have a go really. i'll update when anything new happens Safe x

Hello, quite a large problem here regarding brakes, I ordered a set of Black diamond discs and predator pads for my lupo gti (matched up by the reg plate) diameter 256x25 thickness. All good? No. I've come to fit these brakes and upon taking my old disc off (that I ordered and fitted perfectly using my Reg plate) realised that they are nothing alike. My old disc is 280ish x 22ish. I wasnt aware that my Lupo, had a big brake conversion on it. Can anyone tell me how this has happened and how i can rectify? What discs are being used on my conversion?? and what car from?? Thank youuuu.

Last year i purchased a lupo GTI from scotland, yes thats right, scotland. So after a plane, bus, train and taxi journey with my boyfriend, we arrived and took a chance on this bloody car, biggest impulse buy of my life, but what a treat i got! The car did'nt show great signs at first, in the first 5 mins of looking at the car, the body work was a tad shabby, the handle to pop the bonnet snapped off in my hand, the engine bay ws horrific, the boot looked like it had been smooth by a retard, which had rusted and cracked all round, to be fair the lady was ovbiously a beast on photoshop, as the car in the advert pictures made it look immaculate! I bought it any for very cheap! We then had to face the 9 hour drive back to england, in a car we barely new, no biggy. In scotland When i brought her, day after, new coilies on, chillin with the mk5! got bored on black winter wheels, went with purple... new induction kit in purple & new engine cover, whole engine bay needs a good scrub! chillin' prepping & cleaning for Ultimate dubs!! Best Sticker...... Auto Glym Sesssssshion!! glittery mirror & leather interor! so this is my boot i picked at it... alot!!! second layer of filler, after i de rusted it and cleaned it all up! all done now boot is ready for the next stage... ooossssh Great shot from down shift from the South Meets VIP BBQ 2 HavAir Another amazing shot at recent South Meet VIP BBQ @ HavAir Lupo @ Prept Brands Hatch, Chillin', this was the last time she was out before going to Dsign Vinyl!!! day before she goes to dsign vinyl, new bonnet bra! got a suprise in the post today, 20m of my vinyl @ Dsign Vinyl, fully clay barred the car & smoothed out the dent on the top of the door, ready for wrapping first door wrapped, looks balla bonnet fully wrapped nearly there boots had final sand down for perfection reasons & bumper been wrapped, very happy so far! grill & number plate off, cleaned all the **** off of everything, de greased everything, this car have never had so much love & attention!
