  1. Ended up buying my old 1.0e lupo back! For the grand price of £100 with a thermostat issue. (Which I've now fixed) rather than F about trying to make a 1.0 go faster, I've decided to push myself and go for a 1.8T, now I know a few people have done this already so really I'm just looking for some guidance on what I'll need (engine mounts, master cylinder, gearbox, driveshafts, ECU, loom, code of the engine) in essence the essential to have it up and running. the car is currently on FK coilovers, banded staggered steelies, and the back completely stripped! Heres some photos of what it looks like now and some what it looked like before I sold it the first time
  2. Hey everyone 👋 Here's an intro to the 1.8t Lupo build from my other post, but I'll be continuing the updates here. I picked up a dirt cheap Lupo a while a go and it's been good to knock about in and that. The only problem is, it's a 1.0 and the severe lack of speed is quite frustrating. I've not had anything particularly quick on 4 wheels but have had a motorcycle since I was 17 and it's pretty nippy if I so say so myself. One night, after a few beers I bid on a Mk4 Golf GTI thinking nothing of it... until I woke up the next day and won it!! Oops. It was cheap, has some problems, but it was cheap. It's a 150bhp AUM with a 5spd box and full leather interior. It drives OK enough and for the most part works, although there is an issue at idle which needs addressing. It vibrates quite a bit at idle but smooths out as the revs rise - I'll be checking the spark plugs & doing a compression test to see whats up. And thats the start of my 1.8t Lupo...

  4. Right...... I was just gonna start a new readers ride thread but as I've already got one and its got photos of my loop how she was when I first bought her I figured might as well just update this one As you can see this was how it was when I first got her and if you looks further through the thread this is how she is now, I will put some more photos up of bits and bobs that went on along the way but if you follow THIS link it will take you to my project car thread that is much more detailed. GO TO THE LAST PAGE OF THIS THREAD FOR MOST RECENT DETAILS AND PHOTOGRAPHS. 1999 v reg 1.4 16v Sport Lupo to 1.8 20v turbo 423bhp Now.... 5. Go to last page for most recent updates. Currently running 423bhp. How she stands at the moment. Hello, Before I start I just want to say a quick something to all those people who go on about people who pay for these kinda things and don't get a finger dirty! Its not that I don't want to do my own conversion, I'd love to do it myself but I don't have the skills required or the time that would be needed. Things that I can do myself like brakes, suspension and other bits and bobs I have but this is just too far past me, Lol! But hey if you wanna have a pop at me feel free lol! My car is a 1.4sport on a 1999 plate. I've already uprated the brakes to 280mm G60's on the front and it has black diamond drilled and grooved discs all the way round with black diamond pads as well! Its lowered on FK highsport silerline coilovers and is currently runnin on G60 steelies. The car is being done by PSI Tuning in Stoke on Trent who've had the car for about 3-4 weeks now. They've not long finished off the custom mounts and have the engine sitting where its going to be going. The engine is a 225bhp lump with a five speed box on it. Here are the pictures during.... Thanks for looking, I'll keep you updated on the progress. Sam.
  6. Here is some things you will need for a conversion. Feel free to add things or take things off the list. Im learning too, just wanted to start a list and talk everyone through my process! Thanks
  7. Hi, im looking to do 1.8t in Lupo but I'm not sure what engine mounts to use. Would anyone be able to help me please?!?
  8. Hi im new here , used to be a regular on club gti and have started to be more so but as I now have a lupo and have been using club lupo for info, its only fair that I share my dabblings here too. So i'll start: Random collection of photos: Car after I picked it up how its sitting now the wheels are ibiza oz's and the same size as the bathursts they replace but lighter. Also a steal on ebay for £104 lol. Car is now also polybushed all round and sitting on AP coilovers. My goal with the car is to make it light but as its my daily but useable too. This will start moonlighting as track **** next year. I've started stripping the interior, all thats left is front seats, front door cards and dash. Made some ally checkerplate matts. picked these up too, not sure how long my back will take them going to work but guess thats the fun?! just waiting for some cds tube to come then i'll get them mounted and weld a harness bar in. Looking to go down the same route engine wise as I did with my mk3 and 1.8t it. thanks for looking
  9. Is it possible to fit the 1.8T engine from the MK4 Golf GTI into a Volkswagen Fox? Do they share the same chassis? Has anyone done it? If I was to buy a MK4 Golf to use as a donor car would it be possible? I see a VR6 Fox on YouTube but that was a specially made Spanish rally car Help is much appreciated
