  1. Welcome hope you enjoy your fox for a long time, yes lots of fun in a small car ;-)
  2. Fox is a great little car it is very versatile with regards for use. I have to say when pushed it displays all the traits you would expect, body roll, under steer and well lack of power, but you knew all of that before you brought it didn't you!!!! Great city car go anywhere, leave it anywhere, it will always be there when you get back and no hater’s to damage it for you M
  3. Reliability of a car is all IMO is luck!! I brought a Audi S4 Cab brand new and it was at Audi more in the first 6 months than I had it!! Problems ranged from Electrics to pump failure!! Which I would not expect from a 50K car would you?? So IMO all cars can have issues, some do have "known issues" and the Fox is among them but I feel it is a risk you take on any car!! I have not found any posts on here that would put me off buying a Fox!! As for the VW Tec's opinions they are just that, did you ask them how many polo's or passat's they have had in with issues?? M
  4. Hi, Hope you enjoy your Fox when you get it! I am not up on what is on that model but I would strongly suggest that if it does not have remote central locking that you add it!! That is at the top of my list to add to my 1.2 06 Fox. With regards to the ride height it is all a matter of opinion as the Fox will never be a car in the same cat as the Lupo's and therefore any mod's are down to personal requirements and some will be for looks and others for ride comfort or spottiness The Fox is a great car if you take it on face value for what it is and that is IMO an entry level VW built with quality you would expect from a "cheap car" This is why you can NOT IMO compare the Lupo with the Fox as the Lupo has far better components and a better line up for engine options! But sorry to say that the world economy made VW to look at the options and EOL the Lupo and bring out a "cheap entry level car!" Shame the 4 door and bigger engine models available in Brazil are not available in Europe but that I think is due to emissions and safety! My Fox has only had one issue so far and that was the Cam sensor, which did not stop it getting me home not bad for a 06 1.2 19K miles!! I can say the Fox is a great everyday city car for me but it is also very happy to do long journeys as long as you are M
  5. I keep CD's chargers for phones, sat nav ect.. VW number for rescue not that I am planning on using it I think the Fox had to have this as you can not fit anything in the glove box without folding up or breaking into little bits!!!!
  6. Sorry but 2 valves per pot and 1.2 is a 3 pot so total is 6!
  7. Yes the 1.2 it has 3 injectors
  8. Hi, I have had this low pitch beep on and off, VW have no idea as all dealers will say "cannot hear it or find a fault" It is normally heard if you have your foot still on the brake pedal once stopped after moderate to heavy braking but not every time! You can hear it while driving once you know what listen out for. It is in fact the ABS pump, a very noisy one at that. To test this if you keep your foot on the pedal once you hear the noise and have stopped the pump will after a while stop making the noise and the pedal will then lower! Hope this stops you from thinking your mad like I did
  9. Here is a link to the German parts for 7Jx17 Click here You can see Felgengröße: 7 J x 17 = You know this! Lochkreis [mm]/Lochzahl: 100/5 = Know as 5x100 (n# of studs with distance between) Einpress-Tiefe [mm]: 38 Reifenhersteller: = Offset is 38mm Pirelli Reifenausführung: Sommer - ohne Laufrichtungsbindung Reifengröße: 205/40 R17-84 W = recommended tyre and size IMO a set of 6,5Jx16" would look a lot better! Hope this helps!
  10. Yeah that was more my point and the £'s there are a lot better kits out there for far less £'s for example Link Also approved by the German TUV IMO looks a lot better!
  11. I have a 06 plate 1.2 with 13k on clock now lol my new project Not many Fox peeps on here but it is nice to see the Lupo owners helping us out when they can No pics for here yet but will do soon when I start my mods

    Hi all!

Do you think a chop job would make any difference?? IMO I don't think so but a some people love them!!! I do prefer the Lupo but as I have said on another post it was so cheap only 13K miles on a 06 plate 1 lady owner lol I could not say no ;-) and it is ideal for what I want it for ;-)
  13. I will take all the pics I can to help anyone on a similar quest in the future ;-) Ok I have been looking around and I am going to try a few things, the first is to get hold of a kit from oODUBOo if possible. As for wheels I do agree the 17"s IMO do look too much! (Sorry to all who do not agree with me!) I am not sure but it is either 15" or 16" As for the width does anyone know if 7" is ok or will I be looking at rolling the arches? Or would a more conservative 6” be the best option?
