i've started my 1.8t build, but i have hit a wall, i went down to my local vw dealership to get the weld in engine mount the boy there couldnt find what i was looking for so he gave my a copy of the parts for diagram and the part that i need is on the diagram but there is no number next to it so he said he couldnt order it grrrrrr!!! now i know people have used them so i was wondering does anyone have a part number. getting into gears has always been that little bit stiff, but when i go to work and it has been rainning there is always a big puddle everytime i come out the other end the gears are so easy to change from just wondering if anyone knows why this is? is there a seal gone somewhere and it isnt holding any lube, i dont knoow what its is any help would be much appreciated thanks david

will an ashley manifold and a 200 cell sports cat pass an mot on a standard 1.4 sport engine also it has a cat back system on it anyone running there sport with this set up? thanks

i just ment its the first gritter i have seen out for about 4 weeks so it must be getting colder i didnt say that gritters were just for snow, they are also used to melt the ice and keep it from refreezing and they can also spray liquid de-icer which will prvent roads from freezing down as far as -18 degrees celsius

ok in 2010 we had snow late november, so december came andi thought lets raise the lupo and get it ready for the snow and salt its now the the 15th january and still nothing, i use my car as a daily but damm i miss it being low but tonight the gritters are out and it was -8 this morning but that dont mean much i suppose we had cold nights near christmas but still no snow lets see your snow pictures if you have any i would put one up but i dont have haha

i thought that mite be the case cause i followed the wiring down to the drivers door then kinda stopped thought there would of been a join in it somewhere but hey yhea well i've got a polo gti from the scrappys coming in some time this week so should be able to take the connector off that and as you have said make the join inside the car, sounds like a plan thanks for your help bud rich member of the year for 2012

cool man wasnt too sure if it would do but i get the solder iron out tonight and have a go its just so i can get it through its m.o.t then i'll get it fixed proper job

my rear abs cable at the wheel arch has been cut through not sure how but it has now i have had a look inside the boot and found the cable and there is a part number on it what am not sure is if there is a join in these cables or does run straight through the car to the wiring loom , just so i know if its going to be a big job if it is then it will have to go to the garage any help would be much apreciated thanks

thanks for that bud i know what you mean i've felt the rear end skip in the dry and i have noticed that on damp roads that the rear end tends to slide out that bit also thanks for the heads up on the rear tires didnt even think about the effects that the arb would do to them thanks again

i noticed a difference but i had the whole front end done in one go from fk coilovers, rear arb plus replacing 10 + year old bits of rubber so i cant really give you defenite answer on that sorry bud but the whiteline rear arb is awesome what a difference that makes still trying to find what its limit is haha

polo gti should be here tuesday so will get a start to stripping the engine out and everything eles i need few little pictures of powerflex bushes and rear arb

today i had to re-direct the cable from the alternator to the starter motor today as it has been rubbing on the driveshaft, wasnt to bad to do got more pictures but camera isnt working just now, got it off one switch at the alternator and a bolt also one little bolt holding the cable in place then take off the plastic protector around the sump redirect it around the front and then tape it up and then secure the cable around the engine , job done

dont push forward thats all am saying haha been there done it and yes replaced it

ohh and went to my local scrpyard looking for an engine didnt have any lupos but i asked about polo gti and sure enough they had 1, so asked for engine box and loom and other bits and the boy said take the whole car for £500 fair enough i thought with them being 5 minutes up the road the boy said he would deliver so he did, wasnt a gti grrr!!! but give him his due he has sourced 1 Y reg 56k on clock rear end damage only thing missing is exhaust manifold and for all the hassle am getting the whole car still for £500 and it should be here next friday happy days

well i've not posted on here in about 18 months. still got the lupo, but not much been happening tbh in the last 16 months i,ve done nothing part for fixing wear and tear and just servicing it. but a few things have been happening in the last 2 months so what i have done is anti roll bar bushes, mounting bushes and drop link bushes all powerflex rear whiteline anti roll bar set on medium front seats out of arsoa new wheels also fk coilovers new exhaust on its way so old will be for sale section soon (powerlow) second hand rear bumper bought today will be here next week and i will be looking for a standard front bonent as mines has been smoothed and will be looking for a boot with badge or might be going for a mk5 polo badge grafted into an arsoa boot not much pictures just now will get the camera out this week end i know there fake but the wife got them for my christmas just trying the wheels on, the tyres are 185/45/15 suspension sitting in winter mode arches have been rolled might be getting 165's for them and getting it sitting low cant remember what else has been hapening lol the sills will be getting fixed soon and will be getting a full respray once i get the bonent and boot sorted out comments welcome
