My lupo did this, but i kept putting off getting it fixed . In the end I got the clutch changed, but it was still making the noise. I eventually found out it was the thrust bearing (but too late), ended up wrecking the bearing and one of the bearing rollers pierced the bell housing and caused a gearbox oil leak. it cost me £650 to get the gearbox repaired.

Hello, I have owned a 2001 1.7SDI Lupo for 2.5 years now, done me great so far, passed 2 MOT's with flying colours and have only had to buy tyres and wiper blades so far for it really. I am expecting a baby in September so have had it in a garage for a proper look over, as was making a strange noise and also just to check there is nothing major that will leave me stranded with a newborn... Apparently it needs £600 of work (£376 for parts) This is for a new clutch (current one been over tightened so its a bit knackered) new shockers, new brake pads, and also for my drivers door hinges and pins to be replaced (basically dragging on the pavement) and new pins in passenger door as it's starting to go too. I am planning on getting more quotes but this garage is apparently a VW specialist so would like to use this garage if possible. I am also aware my car is quite old now and it's a lot to spend so perhaps I should cut my losses, but looking about there aren't many for sale the same at all, I love my little lupo as its so economical to run, I also spent ages looking for a pram that would fit in my teeny boot, lol. I don't suppose anyone knows where I can hold of a drivers side door seal, mine has developed a leak and I don't fancy paying the VAG prices.

Hello Someone has reversed into my Lupo outside my house, I saw them having to get a mate to guide them out of the parking bay, but never thought anything of it (after all, there were two of them, you would think they could manage!!) But looks like they have gone smack right into my bumper, got a few scratches and chips I am going to get a quote from a VW approved repairs shop tomorrow, but does anyone have any idea on cost? just so I don't drop down in shock! lol It's all I need, saving up to get married at the moment, we have just booked a beetle and a camper as our wedding cars

Hiya. Does anyone know what sort of bulbs are in the back of the heater controls and how many? If any... I can't see mine in the dark. Also, how easy is it to remove? Thanks
