Dont do it. I have sold 2 Gti's, should of learnt from the mistake of selling the first on but no. sold my previous one for a TT which is getting sold on thursday and bought myself a lupo tdi for hauling the mountain bike around. would have another Gti in a heartbeat and one day will get another.

Faulty ABS wire that sounds like mate mine was doing it right pain in the arse, it was the connection so cut the wires and get them soldered then wrap it up well rest abs code jobs a goodun

No Silver they haven't my old GTi was the throttle bodied one that Lincolnshirelupo built that was the one with 16x7.5 ET25 with 195/40/16 that never rubbed and didn't have the arches rolled My current GTi has the 15" bullet Steels front no problem with rubbing but the rear 15x8 ET5 with 185/45/15 tyres rubs on the inner lip of the arch. I would upload a pic of both cars so you can see ride heights but i cant get my head round how to do it. cheers

Mine does rub on the rear on harsh bumps but the tyre stretch does help a great deal although some people are not wild about running stretch. As for the 16s i cant explain what i mean to make it clearer but i see what youre saying regarding tyre size but the tyre will be wider/fill the arch more giving the whole diameter of he wheel. it all depends on what size you want to run and if you are wanting any stretch or not, on my old gti the setup was excellent with 7.5x16 ET 25 i think, i ran 195/40/16 toyos and it was great to drive and no rubbing at all

I Have 15x7 ET20 up front with 165/50/15 tyres no rubbing 15x8 ET20 on the rear with 185/45/15 tyres and 15mm spacers creating overall ET of 5 theses so rub the edges of the tyres on harsh bumps but i am pretty low, rolling the arches would cure this no problem or taking the spacers down to 12mm 6mm is quite abit of space when it comes down to wheel fitment! Problem with same ET on 16" wheel is it will fill the arch more around the top edge of the arch if you know what i mean so has more arch capable of rubbing, i Know what i mean i think. hope this helps

Only difference really is a smoothed bumper, new grill surround from what i can see and a plus 200 club sticker which doesn't really make sense in a 125bhp lupo but each to their own and it makes mine look like a even more of a bargain.

My Gti is reflex silver and i have went for purple bullet steels along with the 3 mirrors (carefull with interior one as i managed to smash the windscreen when re fitting), also dont the grill surround and gti badge personally love it get alot of good comments proabably called gay behind my back but there the ones behind my back.

Got a Gti for sale with kw v1 fitted along with lots of other goodies! in the best colour reflex silver as well.

have you tried from the bottom up? cant remember how i did mine although it was tricky think i had to force it past the alternator a little might be easier to loosen the engine mounts and that should free the engine up a bit. good luck

I changed mine a few month ago only cost like a 5a from ebay. sorted the job right out as it can effect the fuel consumption etc so in the long run probs not too good for engine internals because when the engine is cooler it is fed more fuel by the ecu so if your car isnt burning the fuel given it may cause long term problems like seals etc. this is just what i have read in the past but go for it just make sure you use the g12 coolant to top it back up with.

been looking for oem roof bars and cant find any anywhere but the 99-05 passat ones look identical does anyone know if they fit?

mine was doing the same after one of my leads corroded under slighty hard accelerating it would start a misfire as bad to run onto 3 cylinders at time got some for £30 odd quid from euro car parts online 20% dicount. was told to stay away from euro car parts and get genuine ones havnt had a problem since other than a bad head i spent the change on at the pub. hoyed some ngk plugs in aswell for the sake of it.

hi mate mine was doing the same loads of gunk under the oil cap and my temp was reading 70's changed the temp sensor £5 off ebay and gave it a good run as i was only doing few miles here and there. Everything is spot on now could just be the warmer weather kicking in?

theres a low milage black gti with all optional extras on gumtree if i didnt have one or £3800 spare it would be mine someone buy it incase i get a loan

no not so much a fan of the compomotive's although i love a set of th mono's in anthracite

never seen them on a lupo before although not a fan of white unless its a corsa with a big bore and 18's

hi all the car is mine and i agree with the milage means nothin the car runs a dream and as ivs stated in the add i want to get back into dh mountain biking and the bike i want cost 2k so i need a cheaper car and a diesel to travel in so getting my self a nice mk4 golf estate tdi and slamming it on merc segins incase u wondered lol. i will admit the interior looks awfukl on the pics but it is not as in ure face in the flesh and looks great i have a buyer already for the car and he will not be dissapointed although maybe deaf haha its very loud at 5500rpm+. sorry for the harry potter length story but didnt want to seem an ignorant t*at cheers martyn
