  1. Why?? The throttle body is a butterfly, if you open it up it wont run.
  2. Whats that big crease in your bulkhead above the air box??
  3. Just exactly HOW MUCH smoke is your car putting out??? b. emits dense blue or clearly visible black smoke for a continuous period of 5 seconds at idle The term dense is the key word It would have to be chucking it out to fail. I would like to see the smoke levels.
  4. The engine is designed to be driven, at best idle speed is uneven and puts more strain on the engine. If you listen to your gearbox at idle you will normally hear gear clatter which isnt a gearbox fault its the engine running unevenly. There are other reasons but i'm far too lazy to type them all in. Hope this helps. Andy
  5. flooded. You shouldnt start a car then turn it off when still cold - does it no favors at all. It would be in the excess fuel setting and when switched of it would leave the unburnt fuel in the bores effectively washing all the lubrication from the pistons and bores - next time it starts no lubrication and metal to metal contact giving accelerated wear. Also one for winter starting an engine and leaving it ticking over is not good - scrape your windows get in start and drive straight of.
  6. its just so totally unusable. It should be in a museum!
  7. I dont care how clean and unmolested that car is .... its still not worth that much money. You would have to be MAD to pay more that 3-4 thou for it.
  8. As it happens i drove one of the R500's this week. Quite nice, quick but sooooo noisey, you would need eardefenders and thats just for the gearbox.
  9. I put Kumho KH11's on my Volvo and they are great 205/50/16 W 4 fitted for £210 Good wear and great direction stability, it made the steering realy positive.

  16. Oh Yeah, some of the stuff is quite nice - some of the stuff is quite nasty. Caterham bring their cars to be sva'ed and the factory built ones are kinda cool. Although I am a bit large for them and its a struggle to get in and out - my arse doesnt reach the bottom of the seat !!
  17. I'm a Professional and Technical Officer Single Vehicle Approval Vehicle Examiner for VOSA. PTO SVA VE I get to drive all the kit cars. Fun??
  18. It make a real mess of the head and the piston crowns. Go through the Yello Pages for engine reconditioners and get a price, tell them that the cam belt has snapped. Then get a price for a second hand engine, if you can find one.
  19. Fully synthetic gearoil 75w90 Get it from any car spares
  20. There is no requirement for rear wash/wipe on the M.O.T so I would recommend a 99p squeegy
