  1. All GTI's, at least in the UK anyway, had electric windows, so the door cards probably aren't from a GTI
  2. 6E0 501 466 A is for the O/S only 6E0 501 465 A is for the N/S only These are Lupo GTI-only parts as far as ETKA lists. The O/S one should be available through VW Heritage parts but can take 6-8 weeks to arrive. I can't find any aftermarket ones listed anywhere, so you'll need to find a good second-hand one if you want to replace the N/S one. Though tbh, you could probably have one made out of a suitable thickness metal at somewhere that fabricates parts.
  3. I love both cars. I'm on my 2nd Up and technically have 2 Lupo's at the moment too. They both have their weak points, but equally have their strong points too. Both are very easy to live with cars, and even with rose tinted glasses, as a daily, the Up GTI is a better car than the Lupo GTI, mainly due to the improved fuel economy, but it's also an easier car to make faster, due to the turbo. I absolutely love my Lupo and will never part with her, but I have just as much fun in the Up.
  4. The missing cable on the top image cd player is the illumination wire. The blue/yellow/green connector goes straight into the back of a gamma or beta radio. Yellow is pre-amp output, green is for a telephone kit to connect to, and the blue is the cd player input The 6 disc changer needs an adaptor cable, something like this CD Changer Cable - VW / Audi - Mini ISO - Car Gadgets BV
  5. The metal pipe that goes through the motor can rot away, so all of the water leaks into the motor, both making it leak everywhere and seize the motor up. VW do a repair kit, but it only fits the VALEO motor, 6X0 955 711 F which looks like this
  6. Pull the centre fan switch knob off and there is a 286 bulb in the centre that illuminates all 3 dials
  7. Are we watching the same thing? The Top Gear video is comparing the Lupo Sport with a petrol engine against a TDI version, there is no mention of remapping the car or any sort of modifications, so I don't see where you are coming from! This thread is about Chris organising a meet-up to celebrate 20 years since that Top gear review, and also has nothing to do with modifying anything in any shape or form? Or am I missing something?
  8. I don't think I can go now either, I'm working! D'oh!
  9. Where has this got anything to do with mapping the TDI engine? This thread is about arranging a meet to do a trip around the M25, nobody even mentioned doing any mods to any car. And yes, I have watched the review several times, so I do know what it's about....
  10. Did you mean to respond to a different thread, as this has nothing to do with this one!
  11. Part number is 1J3 881 367 A, obsolete from VW, but allegedly available via VW Heritage parts
  12. I'd hazard a guess that the P has been fitted too high on the lower one, there is no physical difference with the letters
  13. According to ELSA, fuse 26 is for AC, central locking, electric windows, sunroof, mirror heating and mirror adjustment and should be a 7.5A fuse. Sounds like you have a short or a wire touching somewhere
  14. I believe its this one you need
  15. It uses the relay to 'time' the interval, so you will always need the relay
  16. If I remember correctly, it was a relay from a 3B Passat, I think the part number is 3B0 955 531 which is obsolete from VW now, but supposedly available through VW Heritage parts
  17. Aerial base is part number 1J0 035 501 C, still available from VW but is expensive (£120 in the UK!) Aerial rod is 1J0 035 849 A, also still available from VW, £38.69 inc vat in the UK If you do go aftermarket, don't buy cheap, Chinese copies. They are rubbish! They are cheap for a reason!
  18. Count me in! If my dad still has his Lupo, I'll try and get him to go too!
  19. Just taking the battery out itself is depressing!
  20. The part number for that is printed on the part! 6X0 422 163 A, so they have put the wrong image up!
  21. 1A in the picture above is part number 6X0 803 550 A
  22. On the GTI, you have a metal tray the battery sits on, and a metal loop that bolts down on one end. Sadly no longer available from VW
