  1. really like this car! nice and simple. love the borbets, sits great on them
  2. there was a one of these at ud, quite liked it! base price ok 8k isnt too bad either. there was a finance option of put down something like 2.5k and then pay £70 a month there after, seems like a good option to buying a used car to me. you dont own it at the end of 3 years but i doubt the final payment would be huge.
  3. you do have a lot to say, youre right piers i have to say, i havent come across anyone on a forum before who writes as much as you, that's simple the point i was trying to make! another point i was trying to make about your car is that you're trying to make out that its ground breaking, as its the only silver gti in the uk with air...so what? if you had come on here with air and an epic stance with a wheel and tyre combo to suit, then sure all the hype could be justified. but lets be honest, you've just put air on it and it has not 'stance' at all. I did psychology at A level. i bet at night you dream of large swords - you know what the sigmund freud explanation is to this im sure if you keep ploughing on with this car then it will end up being nice!....but please be a little bit more subtle along the way
  4. Piers you love writing essays
  5. the solenoid only has a + wire and earth wire, found the positive wire which went to the cigarette lighter and piggy backed onto it. then yeah just ran it under the dash, under the carpet, then into the rear quarter then in the the boot. theres a grommet which you put it through on the far side. its a bit tricky but the lupo is put together simply so not too difficult! i used speaker wire from the switch to the boot, was a bit thicker and it meant i could earth the solenoid in the rear quarter, some may say earthing in the boot isnt the best. it also meant that the ignition didnt have to be on to open the boot
  6. when i did mine i took power from the cigarrett lighter power supply up into the boot, pretty easy to do. I had an audi a8 boot button inline which i put into the side of the rear bin, it was in the same position as the gti alarm button is. when you pressed the button, the solenoid does one quick pull on the lock and the boot pops up! simples
  7. ebay is probably the easiest place to find out. i know people have bought mk5 git and other similar wheels from polish ebay or something. quite a bit chearper! around £300 or less i think
  8. didnt see that the bay had been smoothed on this at ud, looks epic! nearly 400bhp in a lupo must be pretty fun! would it not benifit from better tyres?
  9. are they genuine or fake? £20 seems rather cheap if genuine! if not, isnt it illegal to sell fake goods in the uk?
  10. lol i dont think so, unless old age is getting to me?! i think i saw a picture of it done recently, looked good
  11. This! I think it would be quite cool if on the front bumper you had the plate recess deleted and the bump strip going all the way round? not sure if clear lol
  12. epic! is there anything else you could do to this now?!
  13. always nice to wind you up a bit this one..http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=304468&st=440 then there is a black one on purple th lines, plus more if it was my car i would of spent the money on getting the car mint and some nice wheels. to me it just seems like the cars get air, for the sake of being able to say you have air.

  15. cool project. never heard of another tdi gti
  16. great point, seen many static gti's run lower than this
  17. didnt you say you kept up with a maserati when pulling away from the toll lol? sounds fast enough to me
  18. that 1.8t on ridiculous width wheels, anyone explain the thought process behind that lol?
  19. like i said katie, liking the new look! didnt think i like smooth front bumpers, but this has changed my mind! paint looks great as well, just proves you dont need to go to a 'scene' body shop to get a good job
  20. i like it alot! understated but really works. pretty much a gti in a sport shell
