  1. As Mark stated, you can adjust the biting point by tightening the nut at the end of the clutch cable which is located to the right of the engine block. If this doesn't solve it id suggest a new clutch cable (around 10-15 quid from dealers). If the problem gets progressively worse then could be pedal box, take a look at the pedal box thread, very common problem which could possibly be sorted for free by dealer. Hope this helps.
  2. Absolutely stunning, nice stance, one of the best examples on this site in my opinion. What are the wheels you have?
  3. Havent seen inside an arosa engine bay, would it be a straight swap for a lupo 1.4 (75bhp) engine into a 1.0 mk1 arosa, reason being I have crashed the lupo, the engine, gearbox etc are all fine but the chassis is bent and have seen a cheap mk1 arosa. How simple would this conversion be? Would I also need to swap gearbox, clutch, electrics??
  4. Hi standard speakers have blown, im using the stock head unit, can i replace them with aftermarket ones without the need for any new wiring?
  5. Thanks, very useful information, don't think it would be the clutch cable as I replaced this a couple of months back when I changed my pedal box, I have fiddled around tightening and loosening the clutch cable so the spring at the end of the clutch cable is loose/tight, not sure how it should be but either way is still slipping. Whats a release bearing, where is it located? Any idea on how much I should be paying for clutch and fitting?
  6. Yeh that seems to be what it is, how much should I expect to pay for a new clutch fitted, would it be cheaper to buy a clutch and take it somewhere to be fitted, seen clutches around 65 on ebay, anyone been to mr clutch? have one near by and wondering if they will be cheaper than a local garage due to them specialising in clutches? Thanks for your replys Nice to know any problems I can get a bit of advice. How long before the clutch goes completely? Is there much chance of it completely going within the next week or so, have only noticed the slipping a few days ago but it has been doing it fairly consistently since. Also when replacing a clutch will they need to drain the engine oil or any other fluids as im planning on doing an oil change tommorow and it would be a bit of a nightmare if I went to get my clutch done and for some reason they had to drain it, I doubt they do but dont fancy wasting money on 5l of oil.
  7. when I put my foot to the floor the revs will shoot up as if i were in nuetral the revs then go back down and back up again as the car accelerates, there is like a long delay from putting my foot down to the car accelerating, whats the problem and how much would it cost to sort? any help appreciated. Thanks
  8. It was in a playing field car park, I believe it has CCTV, if so Ill contact the police and they should be able to give me the footage? does this need to be done right away because i go on holiday for 2 weeks tommorow, will they still have the cctv footage by then? I had a friend in the car that saw it would that be sufficient or does it need to be a 3rd party? Thanks for your replys.
  9. click options and under display modes switch to standard.

  11. I dont think it was 2001, mine is late 2002 and I recently had to change mine, dont worry too much about it, I replaced mine myself, parts come to about 40quid, it took a bit of time but overall wasnt too hard and I hadnt done anything like that before, just followed instructions from the how to section of the forum.
  12. Took the car to VW who confirmed it was the pedal box, told me they couldnt do it on goodwill and quoted me 322.19, after seeing that the bits needed to replace it come to 40quid tops i decided to go to a local garage for a better price, got there and said could you tell me how much it would be to replace my pedal box and the bloke replied whats a pedal box, he genuinly had no idea what i was on about but told me he could do it for 200+vat, dont want to pay VW price and dont want someone who doesnt know what there doing to do it either, considering getting the parts and doing it myself, have seen the how to on the forum, have many people done this themselves? how difficult is it? ive not done anything like this before but have plenty of time on my hands to do it.
  13. Thanks, Will be taking it to VW tommorow, will let you know how I get on.
