  1. my arosa had exactly the same issue. either i don't notice it anymore or it has slowly gone away. I bet the stuttering goes when u dip the clutch?
  2. hi and thanks for the quick response. Yeah the engine stops moving when the clutch is pressed. Might have to PM Bikerz to find out what plug he took out - really hope I don't have to rebuild the whole gearbox (But it might be for the best) Many suggestions point towards the mount so I'll get it towed to a garage tomorrow for a quote; will need to put a brick on the clutch *lauphs*. -Jonathan
  3. thanks scrappy doo. I think you might be right. It is sounding like the gearbox mount or one of the bearings. I think the clutch is fine. Unfortunately I took the wrong plug out the side of the gearbox and couldn't get it back in; tried a different bolt and now the car is stuck in 1st gear :S - Damn Haynes for not doing a manual. I'll keep this thread updated so if anyone gets similar problems they will hopefully have some direction! -Jonathan
  4. Hello everybody, I have a problem with my 1.0MPI engine where it sounds like a diesel; when lifting the bonnet I can see the engine wobble far more than I think it should. However, when the clutch is right down the problem is not evident which makes me suspect this is a gearbox fault. The problem doesn't occur after driving for a while either (maybe when the gearbox has warmed up?). Sometimes I find it hard to get the biting point or engage reverse. Also, the gearstick wobbles a bit when accelerating in 4th gear. Has anyone else had these problems and how have you fixed them? So far I have checked the gearbox oil which "appears" to be very viscous and at the right level. All suggestions appreciated, -Jonathan
