  1. Thanks James! Good to see you Friday night as always
  2. Cheers man Another pic with the brakes behind the wheels - Super subtle!
  3. This is some really nice work!
  4. So, the brakes finally went on: Old front: New front: Old rear: New rear: Running slightly used discs at the moment to save a bit of cash.
  5. Thought I recognised the face in the wee picture! Hi James and Mrs James.
  6. 195/45 15's are spot on on G60's. Putting a stretched tyre on a 6" wheel, Is like buying micro condoms to make you feel better about your tiny penis.

    polyurethane bushes

Polybush are poop, had loads of fitment problems when I've used them previously and it's nearly always stupid little things that their production line have f**ked up. Wrong crush tubes, Wrong bushes in box etc. etc. Rumours around the trade suggest that bonrath went under, plus buying poly urethane bushes from german eBay you would have absolutely no warranty. Powerflex and Superpro are pretty much the two best bush manufacturers in the world. Don't use the black series bushes on the road. They are not designed for road use and will be overly harsh / noisy. Just stick to the normal Road/Fast road bushes that Powerflex do and you can't go far wrong. If anyone would like a competitive quote on Powerflex bushes for the Lupo or any other car, feel free to PM me as I have worked for Powerflex on a few occasions.
  8. So, At the weekend, I got a bit of a deal on these... Golf-R front and rear powder coated black brake calipers - to suit 345x30mm Front discs and 310x22mm rear discs. Because apparently 312x25mm front and 286x10mm rear brakes just aren't big enough...
  9. Hmm... It would seem I've unintentionally created a newer version of my old bora...
  10. Anyway - Enough of the polo... Back to my Whip! It's kind of lost it's innocent looks now though...
  11. Yeah, My mrs wanted a Rocco TDI also, but she's a totally **** driver, so would be paying for carpark dings all the time in anything bigger than a polo with the poor visibility of a rocco. Plus the insurance was more than triple on a Rocco TDI. It's crazy, I must be old but I can insure a 2.0T for less than half her insurance on a 1.6TDI polo, despite that she's about 3 crime rating groups better off than me! Yeah, It's a lovely car. Bodywork isn't perfect. Few scratches and dents here and there which show that it did get used by a few people with a lack of care.
  12. Just a TDI? pffft, TDI's are cool now that I don't own one (or at least not as my own car).
  13. The Chief Constable of Warwickshire police force had it as his personal car for 3 years, until it had done 59,000 miles, then the dude before me who owned it is an NVH engineer for Jaguar/Landrover/Rangerover. It has one hell of a service history, with absolutely everything being done apart from suspension jobs... Which is where I come in
  14. Why lol? Because I'm not afraid to say exactly what everyone else is thinking?
  15. Haha, Yeah, I think I'd get annoyed by whatsapp pinging up on my knackered iPhone all the time.
  16. An elite group of what lol... This isn't your Swingers club again is it?
  17. Thanks Ray! It's a really nice car and has cost me very little for what it is! Pretty rare too! Only 186 manual versions ever registered in the UK and 70 more with the DSG gearbox.
  18. Yeah, I do many things these days, but my main job is the same. I'm 90% Workaholic these days, but it's mostly to get the mortgage paid off quickly
  19. I start early and finish late Work from home in an evening sometimes too!
  20. I work around 65 hours a week now, so have very little time for PS3 / Forums. and soon for the Jetta... As an ex Police owned vehicle (Chief inspector of Warwickshire Police's personal vehicle), the engine has been really well looked after, almost excessively serviced, but the suspension has gone a little neglected so the following items are due to be fitted in just over a week and a half time: * Bilstein B8 Dampers (to go with my H&R 'Low version' Springs) * Superpro Wishbone bushes with Caster increase/anti-lift * New strut top mounts, drop links, ball joints * BBS VZ033's with 225/40/18 Uniroyal Rainsport 2's
  21. Thought I'd put up a pic of my girlfriend's new motor... Finally convinced her to get rid of the piece of sh** Toyota Yaris 1.4d4D 90ps in favour of something a little nicer... It's a 6R Polo SEL 1.6TDI 105ps in Sunset Orange metallic! Fantastic little car, but she won't let me lower it or put spacers on it (which is what it needs...) She's obviously wrong, as even my mum prefers her 6L Ibiza on 40mm H&R Springs with 15mm Spacers at the back... lol The jetta is due some upgrades and will be updating soon
  22. Yeah, I've got a 270bhp one but I'm used to driving the E92 M3 a lot now so it seems dead slow. It's fun to drive one at around 150bhp though! I had a race with my mate in go-karts around the nurbergring lol
  23. Midland VW are a fantastic company, however they use CustomCode software, so I'd look elsewhere. Stealth Racing or R-Tech or if your willing to Travel a little further Awesome are just up the M6.

    remap

That doesn't matter. If it was 10% over reading, then the BASE FIGURE would be 10% up as well as the end result. I seem to recall the car started with 49hp and ended up with 55hp. As Luke said, It was done to 'see what it would actually do'. Would never do it as a production thing as the gains just don't warrant the price they would require... On the other hand, You only see 6-10hp from a Stage 1 / Phase 1 / Generic remap on an R32 Mk4! Any company that tells you otherwise is just lying. We had a 7hp gain on a Lupo 1.4 16v (75hp) just by removing the carpet mat that had worked it's way up the footwell and under the throttle pedal!
