  1. Brilliant - massive help. It's the beam to caliper one that I've broken. So, I need to replace this with an OE one and use the HEL hose for the connection to the chassis to complete the upgrade. Shame there's always going to be some rubber present in the set up.
  2. Thanks Ray. I've been looking at a set of these. 2 front, 2 rear. http://www.brake-lines.co.uk/hel-brake-lines-for-volkswagen-lupo-1.6-gti-2000.html Are you saying I'd have to use the existing line? How would the hoses attach? You can tell I've not done this before!
  3. Could someone guide me on how to change the standard Lupo GTI brake lines (front and rear, if different). I stupidly broke one off the rear caliper my mistake and thought I could use this as an opportunity to upgrade to braided lines all round. I couldn't see an obvious way to detach the rubber hose from the metal line (whole part seen in this picture). Thanks all!
  4. Early Christmas present to myself Lovely BBS RS 814's. Sending off for a full refurb.
  5. Hello, I've bought some Canbus LED bulbs to replace the normal bulbs in the rear clusters of my GTI. Everything is working as expected except for the tail/brake lights. Braking has no effect on the brightness of the bulbs if the cars lights are on. These are the 380 tail/brake lights I'm using: http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/380-Ultimate-Canbus-92-SMD-LED-Bulb.html Any ideas what the problem may be?
  6. Hi guys, Anyone here have a set of 4 they're desperate to get rid of?
  7. Hello! Does anyone know how much the plastic wheel arch liners are for a GTI (and their part number). Thanks : )
  8. Still might be worth just quickly swapping them to eliminate the possibility. Then try the HT leads, they can start breaking down as they get a little older, regardless of how much the car is driven.
  9. Amazing! Mine lives in Islington! Got any more pics? What's the spec?
  10. I had a similar problem that turned out to be a minor fault and easy fix. I too got judders and stutters and a sense of power loss on acceleration - particularly in the lower gears. Then I got the engine warning light come on. Connecting it to VAG showed a misfire. Swapped the coil pack to no avail. Turned out to be degraded HT leads : )
  11. I used VHT high temperature caliper spray paint. Colour code SP731 (real red).
  12. Callipers restored to former glory!
  13. Do you know whereabouts they are located? Are the of the same year? Mine has A/C, how do you know if it has side airbags? I actually prefer cloth seats purely from a longevity point of view. Leather seats tend to look shagged out before too long : /
  14. Don't worry - no intention of messing around with it I've owned it since Jan 2008.
  15. Thanks! There aren't many around from my understanding, consigned to last months of manufacturering. The raven blue is almost the same just not quite a deep in colour.
  16. She's a totally standard, 2005 GTI in laser blue. Just finished giving her a proper polish and wax with a newly acquired DS polisher.
  17. I don't think it's as simple as that on a Lupo. It seems a bit more 'intwined' with the door and the pillar. Anyone else have any experience in this? Thanks!
  18. Has anyone had any experience replacing a door seal/sill on a Lupo? How would one go about swapping a split one out for a new one? Part number 6e0 837 477 b41.
  19. I think my family have a problem...
