  1. Spotted yesterday evening - private plate with 'Rs' in it.
  2. See this about quite a bit (driving through Chateau Lait) - de-badged with red door mirror housings - spotted this afternoon in Sainsbury's car park.
  3. I had a Sport and then a GTi. Bizarrely, I never really thought about it in the Sport, but the absence of a glove box did irritate me in the GTi - they went to all the bother of aluminium panels, extra thin glass etc., but couldn't be bothered sticking a glovebox in RHD cars! There was nowhere to put CDs (out of sight - apart from the boot), which doesn't matter nowadays in world of MP3 players...
  4. Yip, going from circa 184bhp to 59bhp is a slight drop in power! Standard vRS has 310Nm torque (so your remapped one will obviously produce a higher figure) - SDi has 115Nm!!

    my lupo gti

Good to hear she's being looked after! Always thought it would make a good plate for a rap fan. Completely standard when I sold it (down to four Dunlop 205/45/15s), so if there's any dodgy mods on it, they aren't down to me .

Is that SM54NWA? If it is, I was the original owner (although it was first registered to Western VW).
  7. No need for that. It was just my way of saying I find it comfortable.
  8. I had a Lupo GTi for four years and now have a vRS. The Lupo is obviously more fun but if you're doing a lot of motorway miles then the vRS all the way - I got around 40+mpg on the motorway with the Lupo but the vRS will easily return 55+. The tiny fuel tank in the Lupo is also a pain - you'll be filling up every second day on your mileage. vRS on the motorway is as comfortable as your favourite armchair.
  9. I've always wondered that!
  10. This is the sort of bawbaggery I have to put up with! My lockup is the one with the white door. The van is parked on top of 'KEEP CLEAR' and also directly facing a big red sign saying 'NO PARKING - 24HR ACCESS REQUIRED'! The police will come but it depends on how busy they are. If they can't trace the owner then you need to wait on the 911 truck (which is awkward as it needs to reverse up a tight street and no guarantee it will be able to get through to the offending vehicle). Gave up on calling the police when some guy starting giving 'attitude' even in their presence - despite the fact he was parked on top of 'KEEP CLEAR' he claimed I'd enought room to get out - I had just enough room to reverse out, but no room to turn, so that I could angle my way past his Golf. It's actually private land owned by Cathcart Housing Association - they keep promising to do something but I'm not holding my breath. I don't mind keeping the Fabia out in the street (I just bought it as a cheap car to get about in) but I wanted to keep the Lupo safe n' sound after some dork of a neighbour hit it whilst parking his car (luckily he only grazed the bumper and chipped a small amount of paint on the wing). Those aluminium panels are expensive to replace should someone dunt them (don't even think you can get an aluminium bonnet from VW any more - they just give you a standard steel one).
  11. If I could be sure bar stewards wouldn't selfishly block me in my lockup , I'd seriously consider getting another.
  12. Cheers Dz. I didn't realise it was Andy Fortune's other half (not that I know Andy but I know he's a mod or similar on SVAG). Mrs Fortune used to come on here as I posted yonks ago when I spotted OCD driving through Stamperland. I'm doing not too bad - nice eve so took a run down to Troon for a fish supper - was making my way up to join the Orbital at Phillipshill then M77. How's the 'new' GTi?
  13. You were right behind me (silver Fabia) driving up Carmunnock Rd - makes me miss mine when I see yours :-(
  14. About 11am - headed towards Kingsgate and then did a left off towards B&Q.
  15. You're right there, but still considerably quicker than an Ignis - ain't much in the 0-60 but once rolling... Fair enough on the looks front - each to their own and all that - I like the original Fiat Multipla .
  16. Thought you said on briskoda that you're banned ?? Nobody of sound mind would swap a Lupo GTi for an Ignis Sport - hideous Jap crap and would be a lot slower than the GTi.
  17. About 6ish tonight - anyone on here?
  18. Passed me on a country lane near Gilmourton - I was parked up.
  19. Bizarre - wonder why the original owner had them fitted - if you can't park a Lupo without sensors they you really shouldn't be allowed near the driving seat of a car .
  20. I had the air vents in the centre of the dash replaced (under warranty) but didn't stop the rattle - used to bug the hell out of me .
  21. You're 'avin a giraffe - Shirley??
  22. I agree 100%. I sold mine completely standard (down to Dunlop 205/45/15s) in great condition but saw it for sale last year in a garage in Melton Mowbray looking in a sorry state . I wish I'd been more fussy about who I sold it to.
  23. That's the first thing that struck me as well !
