  1. Welcome to the forum
  2. To be honest dude you are probably looking at around £200 - £400 depending on where you go, the 1.4 16v and 1.6 16v engines are one of the harder cambelts to do due to the fact it has two belts and two tensioners! I use to hate doing them! It would help if you had a mate who is mechanically minded that could do it for you.
  3. Think most of the water pumps on VW's in general are plastic dude, tho they do metal impeller ones now!
  4. I would have to say even if the belt is a few months old I would still change the belt and tensioners as they have to come off anyways, That's just my oppinion but I think its worth doing whilst you have the pump off!
  5. This weather is causing grief with both my jobs Job 1: I work as a Key worker in a Pre School, snow and ice = pre school closed! Job 2: Mobile Valeter: Frozen Water tank, pressure washer and frozen cars = fail Not been to work for 2 days now, I still get payed by the pre school but the valeting is my own business and I'm not making any money at all! Having time off work sounds great but I'm so bored its insane!
  6. If your not mechanically minded then its not a simple job! Its a cam belt off job tbh! You may aswell get the belt and tensioners changed at the same time to save money!
  7. We have all been telling you that! Does it really owe you anything!?! Just keep it
  8. You can be a Mk1 Brother too
  9. Got to stick together lol Mk1 Arosa = original and best!!!
  10. lol thanks dude! I know I'm going to finish last but to even get noticed I'm happy! I'm hoping this year will bring some major changes to the arosa, a new set or wheels are needed but not sure on what!
  11. Mint dude, have to say I love the look on the 13" starlights!
  12. Hmmmm, still think a duff battery! May be some one else might have another suggestion.
  13. They do stretch so you will need to tighten it but not to much, just do it a bit at a time and drive it to see how it feels. I have had a search but there is now "how to guide" on it, there are two nuts on the end of the cable, the first one is a lock nut so loosen that off first (both nuts are different sizes but cannot remember the sizes off the top of my head)then tighten the second one! As said do it a bit at a time and see how it feels, over tightening can make the clutch not disengage properly or snap the cable! Let us know how you get on Luke
  14. To be honest mate your not ever going to know if its a badly fitted or faulty thrust bearing, if you take it back to the same place that built it they are bound to say its a faulty part!
  15. Have you checked the altonator output? Other than that it still might be the cold weather!
  16. It may just need adjusting dude, did mine and it made a big difference!
  17. Very nice mate! Love the rear spoiler, they make a standard Lupo look so good. Did you try the rear larger bump stops?
  18. Do you have anything in the car that is draining the battery? i.e Ipod charger, after market alarm? Things like that can drain the battery if left on over night! Also the cold weather can kill a battery!
  19. I was not sure if the pad material went over the edge of the disc, and can see your point if it does!
  20. Welcome to the forum! Luke
  21. What did you think of them mate? Did they work well?
  22. And start buying Arosa's instead
  23. Yeah all very true! the groves and dimples help stop the pad material glazing over due to heavy braking and as you say help dispose of brake dust! May as well go for normal round drilled and grooved brake discs lol
