Afternoon all,
I picked up a lupo last night, 2003 1.4 with 88k miles on it, nice mot history and long ownership, on the 100 mile drive back I was on the M6 cruising at 60mph and all of a sudden it popped out of gear...
Didn't think anything of it, popped it back in fifth and assumed I knocked it out with my leg until I went to change to 4th and realized I couldnt get it in.
Managed to get close to home, stopped off to check it and even when it was in neutral it still acted as if it was in gear (let clutch out and it stalled).
After some messing around it did go into a lower gear and moved but what on earth could this be? Am I looking at a broken gearbox or could it be as simple as some linkages/cables/alignment of something?
It doesn't crunch into any gears, once it's in a gear it drives fine... Couldn't see anything but going to get it taken to a garage today but anyone who could shed light onto this would be very appreciated!
Pic is just to sum up my night. 😆
