  1. Did you tried compression and emission test? Looks like your car consumes littlebit too much. You can set up LPG system on lupo, even the cheap versions works fine, but first your car always must work perfectly on petrol, only then you can try to run LPG system and use the cheap fuel, because it is harder to ignite and burn LPG than petrol.
  2. Lot of “on edge” bars works fine for lupo. I use old mont blanc bars.
  3. Also screw replacement is a must have in vw workshop manual. The wrong way to solve it, and to avoid screw repacement, is to shorten all the screws by about 2mm.
  4. This is bad, after sandblastig there will be holes, but without sandblasting rust will be back, i advice to not to respray it.
  5. I think they will just posish the rust to flat surface, prime and resurface it. Welding is not the only option, sand blasting and soda blasting works as well, the only problem - if there is not much metal left after removing oxydized metal parts, then it returns to welding. After simple brushing rust looks like this, but all the dark part is oxidized and must be removed as well.
  6. I dont think they will treat rust and respray for 2000, best you can get will be brushed rust, and it will be back after few years. Every rusty spot on your car actually is a coroded hole in metal, if you dont want to see rust in short period after repainting your car, you must remove the rust, prime and fill the hole. It is possible to remove the rust by brushing through metal, sandblasting, for really worthful cars they use soda blast. Or rusted parts can be cut out and welded. These jobs are never included in price for respray, because none can actually know whats under color. If thats “included”, they leave parts of coroded metal under color, because its hard and time consuming to remove them and resurface. I advice you to not respray your Lupo if you arent ready for proper rust treatment, just polish it.
  7. 8£ Is a rip off, thats regular M10 (10.9 grade) screw, go to screws store. Also i dont believe this is not available, because a lot of models share this same screw.
  8. Yes, edge of the hole, but the gearbox is able to hold more, mine currently has filled with 3liters of oil (i hope they are still there).
  9. Then use a piece of plastic to cover the hole in roof for a while 😆, when it comes to sunroof, which is not working properly, there is istantly three options for me: keeping it closed, lubricating it or disassembling it to find the fault and fix it. I use copper grease, but Im pretty sure you can also find something better.
  10. Hello, its 085 gearbox, accoarding to workshop manual all 085's needs G 50 SAE 75W-90 (Synthetic oil), however some say some other oil viscosities works better, like Fuchs Sinto 75w. The side cover (23) is just a cover, there is 5th gear behind it, and you need to remove the cover and 5th gear if you want to disassemble the gearbox. The seal (22) oem part number is 02T301215A and it is still available for around 20£. Take care of your oil level, to aboiud burning 5th gear bearing or damage anything else.
  11. Then I advice to disassemble the whole sunroof and assemble it in working condition.
  12. Is your sunroof closed? It can stuck in closed position if not lubricated.
  13. Shirocco mk3? Anyway, can you share these pictures?
  14. Did you noticed a specific reason for the A&D ignition problem? Might be its just a result of another unsolved problem.
  15. Why is that so common? My engine had this problem as well. Isnt that somehow connected to clogged crankcase breather or something? For example:“Symptoms of a bad BMW CCV are: white smoke coming out of the exhaust, excessive oil consumption (burning oil), engine running rough and misfiring. Failure of the BMW crankcase vent valve creates a vacuum from air being sucked through the rear main seal.”
  16. Imho, if there is one, You can feel the central locking actuator moving each time you use key to lock or unlock doors.
  17. Hi! OBD2 reader can show exactly which airbag is faulty. You can emulate airbag with a simple resistor, but it don't solve safety problems at all.
  18. Thank You mk2, I will try my best to rebuild my Lupo engine.
  19. 195/50 R15 are 22,7" and 205/50 R16 are 23,1" tires, Lupo is made for 22" tires, thats about tire diameter. about width and fitment OEM GTI rims are 6Jx15 ET43, You are aiming at 1,5 inch wider rims and with 13mm less offset, they will rub arches without heavy modifications. Search online for wheel offset calculator for exact calculations.
  20. I have heard its not possible to properly reassemble crankshaft bearings, but thats all I know. Funny that ETKA refferences to workshop manual, about this.
  21. Can anyone, please, explain, me why crankshaft bearings have "no replacement part", also, I did not managed to find anything about them at workshop manual. The same story about thrust washers - parts with number 18. I have the 1.4 8V engine - AUD, but the same goes for majority of Lupo petrol engines. Lucky AVY engine owners.
  22. There is no spring for up and down neutral position, just for left and right. I think the selector shaft of gerbox should leave it there.
  23. If Im understanding the discription correctly, I think passenger door electric lock is wired improperly. Boot should stay locked if you lock it with key (turn barrel to horizontal position), therefore most likely there is mechanical problem in lock.
