    Good info 👍🏻

@ObjectiveAwayDo you have the details for other Lupo gearboxes- and the cross references - which other cars use the same types?

I have all the cross references of all gearbox codes. Details for all 085 gearboxes is also available on this page, which I often use, but those cross references contains only Polos and are not good overall.

I believe that would be a yes.

Looks like I wrongly assumed that every Polo MkIII with facelift interior is also clasified as 6N2.

Dont know exactly which ones exactly, but some Polo III models with new interior has these 😂

  3. Hi!

First, check if it is in great condition, and repair, then go for all kind of mods.

Simplest upgrades that comes to my mind: rims/tires, Audi A3 or Golf 4 front seats, Lupo 3L steering wheel, remapping and EGR delete (for diesels only).

once you select 5th gear it doesn’t like to down

I really advice you, once you drain the oil just open rear of gearbox cover (few 5mm screws) and check if your 5th gear is fine. Sounds like you dont have any problems with your gearbox or clutch, except you cant disengage 5th gear. It might be indication that your 5th gear bearing has been melted and it stays sticked to output shaft when you pull back selector shaft. However when I had the problem I was able to drive 5th gear in neutral pretty soon, therefore I think your 5th gear bearing is fine, but its totally worth checking.

If your 5th gear is fine, just close the cover and fill the gearbox with oil. It just takes to remove wheel and plastic wheel arche and you can easily access the gearbox.

  5. On petrol engines, but you will need m alternator/ac pump/ powersteering pump bracket. To install that you will probably need to extend alternator wires.

Also you will plenty of expensive parts for ac itself. Cheapest way could be buying a 6n2 polo with ac for breaking it or to make a deal with scrapyard that you can remove all necessary parts from scraped car for certain price.

I've had the issue yet again, waited 30 min and it started right up again. Road service told me that it probably was a faulty injector due to the 'new' E10 petrol. How can I check which injector is the faulty one?

These injectors are very good, the same injectors are used in audi 1.8turbo engine. You can remove them, add 12V directly to back of them and spray brake cleaner through them, but I think thats not injector fault. I have the same engine in my Lupo and the problem was that my crankcase breather system was both dirty and leaky. To test this you can remove air filter, remove crankcase breather pipe from throttle and block that hole.

From my experience You have misfires in two cylinders (3pots should be able to roughly run but two is not enough to accelerate). Because spark plugs ignites twice in a round you hear claping from exhaust - engine failed to ignite compressed fuel (made misfire) and did ignited fuel mixture exactly before closing exhaust valve.

Can you take a photo of your spark plug wires attached to ignition coil? After seeing VW OE spark plug wires there are some observations as well.

Also NGK spark plugs need to be adjusted to smaller gaps for this engine, standart gap was too big and resistance made even more misfires.

  7. Update:

Is that possible that lead battery recharges itself from deeper levels after being almost dead empty?
Today I was going to remove the  battery to bring it inside and recherge since yesterday battery was not able to light single interior light bulb, but after opening Lupo doors today the interior was bright and was able to start the car. I dont know what is going on. Looks like alternator was working too, but since I can not imagine any other cause of this problem I will repair or change the alternator ASAP.

  8. My Lupo alternator just stopped working, it was one of few maintaince parts that hasnt been replaced on my Lupo, im glad and very suprised my engine shut down exactly when my rear tire hit the curb on my parking lot, it was perfect timing.

Anyway it was weak 70A 037903025L model and since I need to remove it anyway I want to go for used 180A 03G903016A. Look like plug and play upgrade, but the 180A has Valeo “VL2” voltage regulator and mine has Bosch “L DFM” voltage regulator. What do you think guys, will it work?

  9. Pretty much as soon as they first time get their hands on this 1.4tdi engine for the first time, they can remap your car in under 1 hour. They will remove ECU, open it, directly connect at least few pins of ECU board to remaping device and from this point they just need to copy the previously made map for your engine and do all the reverse. Good custome made map is much more time consuming.

I think try to call both of them, tell what you expect and ask some questions, that will help to decide.

  10. You can test cam sensor in the same way, because its also hall effect sensor. Turn ignition on, mesaure voltages between middle wire and ground, turn cranckshaft and you will get exact answer which sensors are faulty.

I think you have faulty crank sensor and thats the source of  p0322.
